Ok coming from me this may seem a bit stupid :roll: But im here to rant about;

 

 

 

PLAYERS! (especially mods and mod-wannabes)

 

 

 

Mods: Dont get me wrong i have many mod friends, not naming any but one goes here ;) , *coughlocalcough*.

 

Anyway, the fact with most mods, is that they're just so bloody ignorant. Same with some mod wannabes, and the people who just wanna act as if they know everything.

 

Example:

 

Me: (explaining how jagex screw up and mute people for even typos), They would mute you if you accidently spelt a word wrong, typed something like [wagon], and it somehow came up as filter abuse

 

Non-Mod-Person: (eventually down the road me telling them this) if you're old enough to make your actions you're old enough to take the consequences.

 

 

 

Fair enough its a good bit of advice, but were you even listening (reading) the last 10 minutes?!

 

 

 

Why the hell would you debate with someone for 10 mins if you dont know what they're on about, or just not paying attention!?

 

 

 

Worst part about this was, after this I said;

 

Me: Ffs you ignorant swine, im saying jagex mute on even the slightest unseeming accident, and you're telling me its our fault they're stupid enough to mute on an accidental typo, AND NOT BELIEVE YOUR APPEAL?!

 

 

 

Me: I mean, if you typed it like it really was a typo, and they mute you and you cannot appeal cause they're stupid, and get perm muted, they're ripping you off!

 

 

 

right after this i was apparently ignored by the person, and flamed by 5 others, saying i was whining.

 

 

 

Is this whining? No. It is not. I would class it as trying to get normal information through a stupid persons head.

 

 

 

And the flamers! These people are just so arrogant and annoying enough to be an MLBFAN ( 8-) lol), put a demining, stupid, insult towards you and just fight the arguement back with even more spammy, ignorant, arrogant insults without paying attention to how DAMN STUPID, OR TROLLISH they are.

 

 

 

Really people, grow up. And listen to people when they know better from you. Especially from experience. :|

I understand your frustration. Personally I think wanna be mods are much worse about being ignorant. It seems like they are playing just to find something worng and punish for it. Mods understand the rules and are more mature about reporting and such.

Anyway, I agree with your 'flamer' part, but not the 'mod wannabees'. Rules are rules, if you said something you shouldn't you should be punished according to Jagex's rules. I'm a 'wannabe mod'; I'd love to be a moderator, and I report any serious wrongdoings. Rant about the rules if you will, but if you break them (even accidentally), your going to be punished. Easy solution - never say anything bad hoping that the censor will catch it - it can come back to haunt you. I've still got 2 blackmarks from saying a 'censored word' with a t at the end that somehow prevented it from being censored. If you must, just type 4 *s instead of the word. Same result, no consequence ;)

I can't stand someone, especially someone with much less experience in the game (okay, so looking them up on high scores does not say how long they have played but you get a general idea of their experience) who reads me the rules. I sometimes get someone who dictates a kbase article to me.

There is also a difference between wannabe mods and people just trying to help. Wannabe mods will break the rules by spamming you with "zomg reported" and "I think you are breaking rules (not ever true :roll: )"

I'm sorry, but I've known Otm for far too long for you to say he's a bad mod. You're topic seems to be attacking p mods and braindead people. Although some of it may be true, you have no right to say stuff about p mods being bad as probably very few of them are.

Not to mean to mods (many are nice) but alot of them act like [insert word here]. Once on the rsof my thread got locked, the mod didn't post why. I added them and spoke to them, they said why it was locked and I then proved to them why it shouldn't of been locked.

Absolutely, not matey, Pmods need neither time nor combat level - though this may indicate experience, It is not always set in stone, for all you know he may have been an avid, respected player of another MMO - maybe even a moderator. How would you know if JaGeX pick from random anyway? Do you work there, do you select Pmods?

Ranting here, while it gets the problem off your chest, it only does half of what you need to do with this problem - maybe it's time to drop a bit more of the prejudice, maybe we should all get to know Pmods better, find out why they are the way they are, why they are such [kartoffel]. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of Pmods around on this forum, why not PM them; have a little interview. This is the other half of the solution.

 

 

 

In the other hand, I dislike WBMs as well, they'll report for a lot of things, depending on how "enthusiastic" they are, there's more than one type. Those that think about what's happening, people with a lesser understanding of the rules, but do the duty, and conniving WBMs, those that log on for reporting - even fish for an abuse to report. Be careful out there is all I can say. Though, hopefully, anyone that has learnt from a black mark can tell you that.

i've never seen a bad mod in For's chat yet and im there whenever im on runescape (well besides one that everyone seems to contradict). but most Wbm's report like crazy in attempts to get the fabled Silver Crown (which isnt even worth much). then once they get mod ship they realise its not that easy. my opinion, report if its major or affecting you/swearing at you, besides that forget it. it's what kept my gaming life enjoyable and Ignore list clean. :

How would you know if JaGeX pick from random anyway? Do you work there, do you select Pmods?

 

 

 

 

So your trying to suggest Jagex go through all 135 million accounts to see if they are good enough? The only way to do it is to keep checking up on random accounts. (Even then, how do you know they don't pick random accounts, do you work there, do you select Pmods?)

Oh, player mods do need time. You cannot look at a baby and say 30 years from now this baby will be a billionaire. You need to watch them for a long time, or see come back 2 years later and check them up and see what they have done.

 

 

 

Even if they are a mod in another game that shouldn't affect anything at all. Different games have entirely different methods to become a moderator.

Honestly, you can't have a convo without breaking some absurd rule which is there for total crap reasons. I can't tell somebody the name of a vid that they were asking about because some [developmentally delayed] goes and reports you. And the people who report without even knowing what the conversations been about.

 

 

 

You do realise that reporting somebody for that sort of stuff is ruining the effort that was put into the account? The reason I hate WBM's so much are they don't get that they ruin somebody elses time, for a small crown which is going to only bring them people calling them nerd and whatnot. Sure theres the Mod whos friendly, helpful and only reports the stuff which needs to be reported, but theres not enough of them.

 

 

 

And of course they don't pick randomly, its probaly based on how many people you've reported, theres nothing else they can base it on.
