I see you! wait no! he logged out! ( Wildy Suggestion)

Featured Replies

I know everyone that has ventured in the wild and had this done to them.....the person they wanted to attack logs out before combat is initated. I hate that with a passion(ranting) but i have a suggestion

JaGeX could modify the game so that when anyone who enters the wild can't log out until they get all the way out of the wild. I mean really...why go if your just going to log out? it's not called the "wild" for nothing. I think JaGeX should make the wild live up to it's name to the fullest and put this modification in the game.

In my mind your idea spews perfection! Great thought to make it live up to its name, don't wanna fight? then dont enter! :D I love it.

How are clans going to server hop then? How about rune miners? :o

ya i agree. wha ti really hate is when someone stops atking because they know they don't stand a chance, then they auto log because they show no movement. people shouldn't be able to log out 10 min after any combat involvement, even if you're the one being atked.

Sup noobs.

But what if you really have to stop playing RS at that moment and you're in lvl 40-something wilderness?

well, it's not all that bad. Depending whether you're an extreme pker, or a rune miner, there's going to be some conflicting opinions. :?

Yeah, that's the first thing I thought about when I read this :?

123 Combat / 1900 Skill Total / 99 HP / 7x 99 Stats

yes i thought the exact same things... it would make thing really inconveninet if you want to switch worlds...

THe first thing that i thought of was like a "log lag" you click the logout button which in turn starts a timer (maybe 10 seconds or so) and you mustnt engage in combat before the timer runs out or it will be cancelled.

One thing I'm tired of is how many people complain about how hard it is to kill someone in the Wilderness. Do you expect people to just sit there like a stuffed sack and take a beating ?? (particularly when they're totally unarmed, are mining or on a treasure trail)

Chances are you're only going to attack someone if you think you have a better than average chance of beating them. Usually, this seems to involve going after someone who isn't there for combat, and is therefore unable to defend themselves.

You want people not to log out when you attack them ?? Here's a suggestion. Hang around level 40 wildy, and attack only those people fully armed and about 20 levels higher than you. Maybe if you go looking for a seroius fight instead of wanting to use other people like a punching bag, you'll get less people logging off before you can attack them. How about it ???

All im just saying is, the wild should live up to it's name. Which should have risk and dangers maybe the no log out was a bad idea but something needs to be done.

Well, it is dangerous. You cant teleport out above level 20, you can get ranged, frozen by magic or by the zbysmal whip, multi-teamed, all number of things. Try hitting the wilderness on a crowded world with no weapons or armour of any kind and see how long you last ???

I'm sure it's frustrating to have people log out just as you're about to land on them, but if they're not in a position to fight, why should they just sit there and let you beat the hell out of them ??? I agree the wilderness should be dangerous, but that doesn't automatically mean that killing other players be easy, now should it ???

How about stand still for 10 seconds AND without Combat, instead of just 10 seconds without combat.

If the "combat" includes being atked by someone, then yes it would perfect the idea. I truly hate when me and my team find a lvl 90, and he knows he has no chance, so he just stands there with prayer without doing anything, and he gets autologged. -.-

Sup noobs.

a autors dream sit in axe hut or maybe mine ore oh people would love it. But what happens when u have to go do something really quick and your in the middle of the wild just stand there? dont really like the idea

i didnt say it but i was referring to f2p... i have no experience with p2p pking

Semi good idea...but other people point out flaws in it...I'm against X-logging, but if sum1 can switch to the logout thing in their menu quick enough to not get caught by me, well, Iadmire their relflexes...what should be worked on instead is the prevention of X logging, and No movement logging.

well jagex has the autolog for a reason and to simply get rid of it in certain areas means some one can stand in the most remote part of the wildy on an empty server for hours

until some one comes along at the right lvl and kills em

Not being able to log out in the wilderness is a bad idea.

(as Shane72 said) Quite a lot of people go into the wilderness just for Treasure Trails or other non-pking purposes. You simply don't benefit anything except for wasted food, runes/arrows and time by chasing your prey.

People who lost connection suddenly would find themselves vulnerable. They might have to restart their computer, enough time for anyone to kill, with no chance of putting up moderate resistance. With such a disadvantage, less people would go into the wilderness at all.

Personally, I think the logging out system should be left as it is. People are doing you a favor. Save your money on pkers instead of pointless loot.

You don't want people to auto-logout because they are overwhelmed by numbers? Don't go in a team then.

Well i think this discussion has come to a end, good input you guys gave some good pros and cons about my idea. Back to the drawing board i go with this one.

dude, i agree but i see a snag in your idea, this would be an AFKer/autoers dream, i think a good solving would be to

1, u will not auto-log from pvp combat anymore, but u will still auto log from pvm combat

2, whenever there has been another player on your screen within the last 10 secs that has the level required to attack u (depending on wildy lvl, of course)

3, when in non multi someone is not attacking back, it should count as being in combat too, its really annoying if someone runs through non multi with monsters there and u lose your prey

4, there should be no random events when being in combat or within 10 seconds after it(i once got a mime 1 second after killing someone in full rune, when i got back it was gone)

How about stand still for 10 seconds AND without Combat, instead of just 10 seconds without combat.

Problem Solved, it seems so easy

Damn, you guys made some points i didn't even think about. I guess this is a bad idea after all.

I was going to post and rant up a storm at your lousy idea, but I see now you've found the error of your ways. :D

Points Against it:

-Say your sister has just got into a terrible, almost fatal accident and has been rushed to the hospital. You recieve this news whilst in the wilderness, and any precious time you waste could mean you may not get to the hospital in time. (Yes, this happened to me...but don't worry...my sister is fine)

-Say you've just gone into the wilderness to mine Rune Ores. You would have to walk alllll the way out of the wilderness, log out...log into another world, walk allll the way back to the rocks and HOPE no one else has taken it by the time you've gotten there.

-Say you've gone into the wilderness JUST to do a level 3 clue. You're on your last clue and then some pker pops onto the screen. You desperately try to log out...but alas! Jagex has taken away that feature in the wilderness! You, being unarmed...are killed, you lose your clue scroll, and a possible chance at getting rare armor.
