December 1, 200817 yr EDIT EDIT EDIT: Okay. After Yaff and Ouchy now motivated me to do a bigger pixel, I decided on a theme: Wizard of Oz! lol..... i know... but anyway..... Here's my progress so far after a couple of days: V3: What do you think of the yellow brick road? More shading? I tried to shade a little to make the bricks look less flat, but it didnt seem to work too well... V2: Is this a little better for the road and depth perception? Or should i work on it more? :?: V1: I know, its terrible, especially the road. I am going to fix the road though. it was just a rough sketch really fast. But yeah. i was planning on making the sky sort of dark and spooky over the forest and light and cheerful near emerald city (or my take on it actually lol). I would like suggestions and criticisms though! December 1, 200817 yr They are way to small TBH. Just because its your first pixel doesnt mean it needs to be small. My first and only pixel was a sig . One thing you need to work on, is Anatomy. Your images are very small so it will be hard to work with though. also your shading, rather that a simple gradient, maybe add some dithering and what not to give it a better look. And your perspective is off, i would re-do that 1980 Berlinetta with a 350, bored, mild cam, intake carb, headers, exhaust

Thanks for the advice. Im trying something bigger. Its not quite so big as Yaff's because right now, I dont think I have the patience to make something that big being still really bad at this. Until I get more experience will I try a piece with a big canvas like that. I've just kind of browsed around on these forums reading advice on beginner pixels. I did, however, read up on this guide on the internet. Its not long, but it taught me a few things. http://www.natomic.com/hosted/marks/mpat/ Also, I am working on anatomy. I've never been good with drawing humans, even on paper. I'm trying to improve. I've looked at countless guides on anatomy and what-not. Hopefully, I'll improve. Perhaps until I get it down, I should stick to non-human pixels?
December 1, 200817 yr I don't blame you, to be honest. Maybe try something like 350 x 110 Pixels? Keep trying signatures with humans in them, you'll get better faster that way. I am quite horrible at pixelling and my first thing took 7 hours. I didn't pixel for a omnth, and now i'm on my third. I haven't shown anyone at the gallery my stuff though :-#

December 3, 200817 yr There's nothing wrong with the actual pixeling, as a matter of fact it looks really good. But the perspective is really off. It doesn't make any sense for the road to make a giant U when the city is right there, or at least appears to be. It needs a sense of depth.

Alright. thanks for the compliments : and the criticism :D I am working on the road. I've redrawn and redrawn, but i can't come to something that i want. i had a vision in my head of something like that, but it never comes out right. Maybe if i get rid of the turn and make it go straight to the door of the city, kind of like how you said....... hmmmm.......
