Antega
Just looked on the news... Birmingham City Centre has been evacuated for over an hour after recieved intelligence that there's more bombs!! from http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4668313.stm Police evacuate Birmingham centre Police are due to issue a statement about the evacuation Police in Birmingham are evacuating large parts of the city centre. A West Midlands Police spokesman said people were being asked to leave the centre, particularly Broad Street, as a "precautionary measure" He said it was in response to intelligence the force had received. "It's quite tense," said BBC journalist Toby Brown. No vehicles are being allowed to be moved, he added. Birmingham resident Kenneth Kelsall told the BBC: "There is a lot of confusion, there appears to be no chance of anyone moving back into the city - but people are remaining quiet." ----------------------------------- Destroying our country :( Discuss. Bmw
Yikes...I doubt its anything to worry about guys, but I suppose you can't help but be scared, especially in your case, if its so close to home. Hopefully nothing happens. It's just a precautionary measure, and usually in such cases nothing ends up happening, or its taken care of. I'm sure you're in good hands, nothing has happened thus far, and I doubt it will. Scary nonetheless, and I can't imagine what its like down there. Theres not much info out yet, I'm watching CNN, have read the articles online, seems kinda scary to tell ya the truth, but I still doubt anything will happen. Everythings being kept quiet? Police are just asking people to leave the area? Kinda eerie, to say the least :? Hopefully we'll have an info update up soon.

Phil
I'm very glad it wasn't another bomb. This also happned with suspicious packages in London right after the bombs went off and also in Edinburgh city centre (on a bus that I am used to getting), and also I heard in Coventry too (not sure on that one) Controlled explosions were all done on those packages. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more of these scares.

Bubsa
Good to know you're alright pal. I just hope Liverpool isn't on the agenda. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Mercifull
Someone left a bag on the bus outside my work offices. Police and Special Froces all came and stuff. Turns out it was just some kids school bag with half a sandwich in it Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. Mayjest
All the services will be incredibly jumpy for the next few weeks - no one will take the risk of leaving a bag by itself without reporting it in. Expect a few more false alarms over the next few weeks. Might I add - this is just fear, something the terrorists wanted to cause. If we're gonna allow a bit of nervousness cripple our country, we're letting them win. I think we should do what they're doing, strike some fear into them by threatening to kill someones family if they're found to be a terrorist or something. England is slowly caving in and it's all due to this "Ethics" crap. 200 years ago we wouldn't have put up with this, we'd have slaughtered everyone who even tried to terrorize us, but now look where "ethics" have gotten us
Mayjest
I dunno, we're not so bad - 3rd or 4th richest economy in the world, the driving force behind humanitarian works, we have some of the most diverse cities in the world. Far better than we were 200 years ago. The 'peak' of the Empire (also refered to, by me, as the lowest point in out history), was around 50 year later, or 150 years ago. Not a single person I know is proud of the Indian massacres that followed the mutiny, or how we manipulated countries for our own gain, how we slaughtered those who opposed us, how we aided and abetted the slave trade, how we were generally not nice people. Since then 'ethics' have taken over. You're the first person I've met who actually considers that to be a bad thing. I hope your being sarcastic. If your not, then I hope we do introduce that policy. I'll accuse your family of being terrorist and you all die, no questions asked. cjlhdevil
Better be safe then sorry, I would much rather ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã1billion lost on false claims then a bomb to go off which could have been prevented.
