Let's talk.

PLAYERS set the prices. Not JaGeX.

TRUE!!! have you heard of chessy018?

chessy018 is a player with a cc called, "merchmasters" who basicaly do as follows:

1: select an item, (usualy dks rings, barrows gear, gwd gear, but for now, we'll say z rings)

2: effectively buy out z rings on the ge.

3: set extra offers so no rings slip to the general public.

4 WAIT

5 Dump into ge when prices have jacked up.

after reading your little "supply and demand" lecture:

A seller will ALWAYS try to get as much as he can for his item. A buyer will ALWAYS try to get the item for as little as he can. Both parties are willing to compromise to a certain degree, depending on how many people are willing to buy and how many people are willing to sell. That's what sets a price, and no matter what Jagex thinks, setting arbitrary "this is what we believe it should be worth" controls can't change what players are willing to pay or sell for. That's called supply and demand, and you fail at it.

1: With Clan Chats like chessy018, that wrecks supply and demand. They're creating demand by depleating the supply. it just shouldn't be so easy to do.

2: notice the bolded, underlined word "compromise." I've been playing this game for a while, and guess what? PK'ing was actually possible before absurdly powerful weapons like godswords and dragon claws. DDS? D Scim? Granite Maul? HELL YES!!! If buyers wouldn't succumb to such absurd prices, naturaly infalted by willow and maple unstrung longbows, then the sellers would not sell for as much maybe? If woodcutters didn't chop so many willows and chopped more profit logs such as yew and magic, then willow price wouldn't be so unstable. The fact that willows are worth less than regular-levelone-lumby trees is sickening. It's an example of greed. Players couldn't resist that shiny new Skillcape, so they chopped the fastest way the could. Now yes, I know what you're thinking. WHY USE A LAME WEAPON WHEN THERE'S A BETTR ONE, NOOOB FLAMEFLAMEFLAME? OK, true. But why pay so freaking high? Patience is a virtue, and obviously not one possessed byRs comunnity. For the love of god, if you wait a littl, your problems may just sort out. If sellers aren't getting buyers, they will compromise! As for logs, burn your willows! :wall: we all have enough at the moment, tyvm. But seriously, I see no reason why not to profit chop. Your xp/hour rate is slower. Boohoo? No. I've no sympathy for you. People are just going to have to learn the best way may not actually be the best. they seem to be learning pretty damn slowly though. BA/Draynor willows are always full on f2p for draynor and p2p for BA.

Coclusion. There is no true way to stop junk trading, clan merchanting, or other such activities. There is a reason; The rich will do what benifits them.

PS: When did RS become completely cash based? did it happen when I became higher level and needed better gear? Probably. I started some low accounts, nobody is so uptight in lumby

And come to think of it, what a shtty idea. You want us to be unable to get food from a partner, to be unable to do a lot of interaction we can now just because some people don't want to sell a rare item for a paltry 200k? Get out.

Go read the first post then comment, if you cant even read the first post then im not going to debate you.

Hmm, you dont like your opponent post, so just tell him to go away. Kind of like a teacher being proven wrong, then teling you no more talking or he'd send you to the office. He is completly right, and as for your response, it is pathetic. To remove non ge trade would be terrible. No more helping friends/clans at bosses or wars. No more aidding a player about to die on a quest. No more just about anything like that. How would item lending work then? What about selling things to a friends for a discount? This is a totally asinie idea. Just think it through.

First of all:

Your title is incorrect. It should say "it's", not "its"

Merchanting is the main source of income for many players. It is there for the people who camp at mages/sharks/runite etc. for a week.
