09-Dec-2008 Achievement Diaries Hairstyles + PVP Improvement

Yeah the 66 rcing isn't thaaaaaaat bad

(only 18k law runes lol)

It turns out I'll make about twice as much money going from 62-66 rcing than the cost of going from 62-70 prayer!

(So not really a loss?)

Why would anyone be disappointed that they don't meet requirements for an ACHIEVEMENT diary...I wish these diaries gave me something to work at and actually achieve.

Some great advice about construction

It is funny to watch all the complaints on forums about the Fremmenik lvl 3 reward. So far it is the most generous achievement award to date.

It is true that majority of flatpacks were devalued as a result of the treasure trail expansion. Thus, the materials cost is way higher than the trade in value at Advisor Grimm.

But, what about those flatpacks that are not TT rewards? Marble cape racks, marble wardrobes, even the magic cape rack?

Well, a cursory glance at the GE prices reveals that their value is indeed higher than the materials cost, thus creating the possiblity for profit.

Now, profit has been gone from Construction for quite a while now, so the lvl 3 award is a very generous boon to players with high level construction. (It reminds me of the advantage given to crafters when the karamja gloves came out - all of a sudden, the cost on an uncut onyx was almost halved when one traded in obby weapons while wearing the gloves. That meant that high level crafters could make 2-3 million profit per fury made).

But back to the issue at hand.

At the moment, any lvl 84 construction worker can drink tea and use a saw to make marble cape racks - the profit adds up to about 50k per inventory after the trade with grimm

A lvl 90 construction worker can make marble wardrobes and bump the profit to 20k per item or about 500k per inventory traded to Grimm.

Similarly, at lvl 93, construction worker can make magic cape racks and trade them at about 25k profit or about 600k+ per load.

This is serious money, and on top of it, it is tied to the supply and demand charts on the GE. (Meaning that it is here to stay because there is no market for flatpacks...)

What the fremmy reward also means, is that people can train for the first time with serious qua****** of marble or magic stones. They can be purchased easily in Keldagrim, money permitting of course.

So. It is incredible that people are complaining about the reward. It is about the biggest boost that construction can get!

Furthermore, the relationship between GE price and Grimm's pay mans that flatpacks could rise and become profitable in relation to their component materials in the future.

What surprises me about this update is only the following: given my suspicion that the lvl 3 fremmy reward was made most likely as a sink for all the low value flat packs that currently fuel the junk trading second economy, why extend that sink to high value flatpacks as well. This creates inflationary pressure on the rs economy that might offset the initial gains.

On the other hand, this could be just Jagex's way of 'priming the pump' in a Keynesian sense in order to stimulate the economic slump. If that is the case, maybe Jagex finally heard all the complaints on forums and hired an economics advisor.

That would be a riot

In any case, what do you guys think of this astounding situation?

Is it a turn to a more active management of the economy by Jagex?

I'd love some mod clarification on this as well, but given the recent silence on significant matters, i am not hopeful.

too da loo.

Let's see if this really works.

When I started I had 7906k cash. I bought 8 magic stones and made 8 magical cape rack flatpacks.

Let's see what happens!

Oh my god... It actually works...

Thank you Master_Smither for that precious info.

Tbh this rewards also work with the oak items you build to train contruction.

Banking them then selling gives you back a part of the money you spent in planks.

And selling NPC at ge price is very good since GE never sell your oak tables...

Ok, you'll spend some time on both tasks (banking then selling)... but it's like summoning and the shards.

I'm very pleased with it, especially since that skill became my lowest because of the money to spend on it.

Oh baby light the dark side...

Some great advice about construction

apologies if I missed it but must the flat packs be in item form or can they be noted?

chris_924.png

They cannot be noted.

10m profit ftw  .

Finally there's an use for my 99 construction.

I'd say this won't last but seeing as no one is buying them but the npc should mean the prices stay stable. <3:

A reason to train my con level besides it being my lowest skill.

I don't have the need to try it but would using slayer ring to tele to Releka then using the fairy ring there then go to the Mis ring be faster then running from the bank across the island?

Sorry if this has been posted before, but the lyre's free teleport is going to be REALLY handy- now you have a free, bankable teleport to the next best thing to your Kingdom! Huzzah!

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

I'm not sure if you've already noticed but you can use the free-teleport once per day. But you can still charge your lyre from anywhere if you have some raw sharks or something so I guess it's still alright.

4 updates!!!!!!!!!!!! Still in shock!

onedudeuk.png

kind stupid if u aske me about lyre charges,.....yes u can charge from any where.....but less charges.....for a manta i get 2 instea of 3 but if i go to the fossgiemen myself wearing the boots and using a manat i get 5...................much rather take the short trip...helps if im out charges i guess....but i can make slayer rings so lyra is obsolete anyway lol

I realized that it's once daily, but how often do you need to go to your kingdom? Once per day. Tele there, fill the coffers, please the plebians, and tele back, without the business of POHs or raw fish.

Hey I just found this out which was not mentioned in this thread: For the sweetcorn achievement - if you already have the fully grown sweetcorn you only really need to put a scarecrow on the patch lol (even if the sweetcorn has been there for ages)
