Its random, Ive caught over 40k sharks probably, got the first three within 2k and the other three were spread out between 20k.

I can probobly comfirm that it is random, I once got 2 Big sharks within 500 sharks. :

I have 17 over about 20m xp, not sur ehow many sharks that is but...yeah it's rare lol.

And i got 7 over 20,5M fish exp. :wall:

i got one within my first 100 sharks.. dint fish much after that as i switched to monks.

I haven't caught a single big shark.

Note it quite clearly says ABOUT

 

 

 

and if u reverse engineer it i am 109k sharks past lvl 76

 

 

 

So at a guess I'd say around 100k sharks is about right for what I've fished
