A friend spent 12m on P O H party and had fun and all. This was long time ago, and he wanted to advertise his P A R T Y at his POH, so he said:

 

 

 

"House party at xxxChazzz(z)"

 

 

 

He got mute banned for it.

 

 

 

Advertising goes for websites, and correct me if i am wrong but weren't there are a THEMED world for POH parties?

 

 

 

Is there any chance for him to get umuted? I heard you could explain your bann cases on forum to a moderator or investogator.

Appeal it, the usual way you get mutes looked at.

hmmm..that's unusual but are you sure it was because of that offence...ask him to look at his appeal a ban and look at the evidence...

He is okey, but i hate seeing him use Quick chat as hes a nice guy. I will talk to him more but i doubt he did much more than that.

There was a "Review this account!" thread in one of the sections on RSOF's it was closed the last time I looked at it (About a month ago) but it's a good thing to tell your friend so he can watch out for it re-opening.

 

 

 

Basically you post a username and what you want looked at or changed, like a ban or mute for no reason. Jagex staff then go in and look at each and every account posted and review if there system made the right choice.

He most likely got muted for spam because thats what my bud got he said house party over 12 times in 30 seconds and got wtf pwnt. But if he did get banned for advertising he should be able to appeal right away.

Clearly someone mistook xxxChazzz for www.whatever or some type of url. Unfortunately you cannot reverse this without appealing or using the thread of RSOF.

 

 

 

Really for that type of offense it is a ridiculous punishment (assuming he had no black marks beforehand), I guess Jagex throws out bans willy nilly now because of quick speak\chat feature.

Just an example of how stupid they can be, well actually my "friend" was also stupid. We were kinda bored I guess, and for some reason we were pressing shift 8, 6 ,4 w/e for the symbols, in the private messages. Of course, we weren't exagering. That was about 4 years ago and my friend really wanted to be a player mod so he reported for any occasions he could get and I guess this was one of them. He reported me and I got banned for 2 hours, for password scamming (??). I got unbanned but I'm still left with 10 black marks, for password scamming which has nothing to do with pressing shift 8 and I never got an offence for anything else. And I'm sure if they'd actually take a look at it they would realize there's no swearing behind the shift 8. I've always been a clean player before and after that incident but they don't seem to care about my appeals.

There is supposedly a new "degrading black mark" system, whether it is in place, I am not sure. Most perm mutes only last around a year if it is undeserved. In a few months the "Review your account" forum should return on the rsof, I'd post there.
