Firefox while IE is "broken"

I'm using Firefox while IE is broken...truthfully, it's because I saw something about a browser helper on this site!

 

 

 

My problem is in downloading and installing it. I'm not familiar with the browser and the directions on how to do it on the Microhelper section is missing pictures and the file that comes up is something that...

 

 

 

Is there someone who can help? What's an .xmi or .xpi file (or whatever it is) and how do I get it to where it's supposed to be.

Congratulations on converting to Firefox :thumbup:

 

 

 

To begin with, those file types are plugins for FF, you don't really need to worry about those.

 

 

 

Visit http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/download.html?product=firefox-3.0.5&os=win&lang=en-GB to download, then install as any other file.

 

 

 

Once installed FF will probably ask if you want to set FF to default browser, click yes :)

 

 

 

After that it's pretty much the same, but more secure and faster.

Just download it to a folder, then go to File>"Open File" then browse around for the file you downloaded. It will then allow you to go through a setup process which is pretty much self-explanatory. :)

When you click on "install" on Tip.it, a message bar comes at the top (Below the tab bar) that asks you if you want to allow addons from this site. Click yes, and it should install. If it doesn't, click install again.

Okay, I think I've added the add-on correctly, but I can't seem to get the game to load. It just freezes at the java orange screen or the screen is all-white.

 

 

 

Is that something I did with the add-on or do I need to "allow" something or...whatever.

It is some issue with the microhelper I believe, just try refreshing the page or waiting a bit. I usually do something else while the page loads, as sometimes it takes 2 mins to load up if it is being really stubborn.
