deloriagod, for once in his life, had a point Maulmachine. But if you're so damned worked up about "productivity" (with a sleep schedule that, chances are, will not work the way you say it does) than it's no wonder you didn't get it. Or maybe you're just not old enough to get it yet, who knows.

 

 

 

 

 

ginger, naps are VERY practical even if you aren't a polyphasic sleeper, if you won't take my word for it look back a few pages until you see NASA's take on naps.

 

 

 

Stop spouting off the same crap, you didn't even read what he said. People are not going to just "take a nap" in the middle of the work day. Not only would some professions deem that impossible but pretty much any profession is not going to allow that, especially not two 20-30 minute naps in one day, every day.

 

If you read what I said to gingers response you would have known that some companies actually do allow naps due to their aforementioned practicality. Thanks for your comment about my age, I'm 28. Now, as for the sleep schedule not working, I advise you to read some of the blogs of testimonials, and the video of experiments showing the practicality of uberman sleep cycle.

The point with this is that it doesn't fit in with an active social life. When you're used to such short naps you can't do anything else, so no sleeping with your girlfriend, no activities that take longer than 3,5 hours (or whatever is the interval for your naps) and much more cons. Ofcourse if you're only interested in productivity this is the way to go.

 

No, naps can be prolonged for as much as an hour and a half, you can sleep if with your girlfriend on occassion as a bonus sleep block, which is beneficial.

 

Look, you're a surgeon. I know you guys have it choca, but think of the regular person working 9-5. Can they honestly adjust their body clocks to a pattern like this? It's one way to get fired, I guess.

 

 

 

Imagine going out for drinks, and having a nap for an hour in the middle. It would kinda kill the mood. :|

 

 

 

This schedule just isn't compatible with how human society organises its working day.

 

 

 

That's exactly what I mean. Plus, it would be very rude to have to leave somewhere because you need to get a nap #-o

 

 

 

(Imagine being in an emergency situation and missing on your sleep, you'd get very sluggish and such and would not be able to function at the grade yuo need to. Buhbye)

I realize that, yes, "some" companies allow naps. However MOST will not allow you to take two naps during a work day. I understand things may be different in whatever line of work you have, but for most people we don't have the luxury of taking naps whenever we damn well please. Even when you don't consider that this sleep cycle probably won't work you it still has so many other negative effects. It means that your life is planned around this sleep cycle. If something unexpected happens, well, you're [bleep]ed.

 

 

 

 

 

And sorry about the age comment, I honest to god thought you were only 13 or 14. Still not sure what 28 year old doesn't understand what a credible source is though.

I understand what you meant about blogs not being a credible source,however, Steve Pavlina's experiment is very good for instruction on how this works. I also provided you a video that has numerous doctors seeing the effects of this on a Swedish man,this is a credible source. Since you ignored this in the last post, I also recommend you read a sample of Claudio Stampi's book on google books, this shows how the process works. This regiment does cause inflexibility in your schedule, I am not going to deny this,however, I hardly think that inflexibility is too big of a trade-off for the reward of 22-hour waking days.
