tripsis
I think that most of the time, when people do something they don't want to do, it's because they're trying to achieve a higher goal that they WANT to meet.. not necessarily to gain respect from other people. Example: Say someone wants 80+ in all skills.. or 2000 skill total. Why do they set that goal? To challenge themselves or because it's something that they want. In order to accomplish that, they may have to do a skill or two that they don't like, but they're doing it to accomplish something that they DO like. Getting from level A to level B may not be the most fun, but the sense of accomplishment and self satisfaction is worth it. Plus, by training skills, you unlock/get better at fun activities, like mini games and boss huning. For example, a level 75 in rune and using a dragon long may find it frustrating that he keeps getting killed in Castlewars. However, by training his skills up, he can become a large asset to his team, thus enjoying the game. I guess that's something like I was trying to say. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog

Housepig
I'm realy not bothered about respect, at least not in-game, since to acheive anything notable, you have to sacrofice an insane amount of time. Of course, it's possible to get several skillcapes while still playing in relative moderation, but I don't have that commitment, largely because I just don't like the RuneScape community much at the moment. For me, it's definately about having fun; at the moment, however, having fun generaly involves not even playing RuneScape. If absolute power corrupts absolutely, where does that leave God? SomeWelshGuy
I play for fun, always have. I do not care about my levels. Sure, I do set goals for myself, but I do it just so that I can have more fun playing, nothing else. Retired Tip.It Crew Mapper.
Riemis
Personally i play purely for fun, but on the other hand i need to do boring stuff wich gives me respect, like getting 60 smithing to make class 4 items at stealing creation. My account is over 5 or 6 years old now, and i'm only lvl 93. When people tell me i'm a noob, i tell them the truth: I play for fun. Sand_Hill
As can be seen by my erratic switching between seven skills per day, I love just trying everything out and having fun. I haven't achieved half the things I set out to do, and I'm still having a great time :) Now known as Expl0de.My Defense Pure GuidePlease don't post on forums whilst inebriated. Everyonedies
if your searching for respect and fame over the internet from unknown people you will most likely never meet you may want to stop, reflect on your life and who you are and come to grips with your true realilty...In other words you might want to "get a life" cause you surely are wasting the one you have... http://www.clanhavok.net/
