[Answered] An armour and slayer question :)

Hey all :)

Hope you don't mind if I lay down two question for you, I just really appreciate the help the members on tip.it are able to give

1) I want some Barrows armour to use instead of this dragon stuff I currently have (d skirt, med helm)

Basically I want to know, which is the best for me? My stats are in my signature, if that helps in anyway - I ask this question because I have no idea on the difference...

2) Slayer masters... I am currently using Vannaka, my question is, should someone at my low level move up to Chaeldar yet? The sound of 10 slayer points per task sounds really tempting :P

Thanks in advance and Happy Christmas to y'all  \'

Stick with Torags. It gives you the best defence. Some may say to use veracs but you won't be praying so you really don't need the prayer bonus.

As for what slayer master to use, I always say to use the best master you can. So go by that.

Apparently, my signature was to big.

1) I'd recommend you go for the cheapest melee top and bottom you can get. There are better helms and weapons available and those tend to be the expensive things. You can always sell bits back and trade around later. If you want a set then Guthans will be the most useful but also the most pricey...

2) You should be able to cope with Chaeldar's tasks fine at your levels.

I think you should at least try moving to Chaeldar. And if you think that her tasks

are too hard, you can go back to Vannaka.

For Barrow's I use Verac's. Before i started using Verac's i was using Guthan and Verac's is

like a million times better than Guthan!

Aha, I see there is a lot of controversy between the barrow armour.

Hmmm, well I guess that leaves me having to experiment between the lot :D I will probably try with the cheaper sets first (Verac / Torags )

Thanks all for the help :) And I will go and test out Chaeldar after my current task of 94 ice warriors :P

Dharok/Torag/Guthan bodies have the same stats if I recall correctly. :D

Dharok, Torag, Guthan bodies are the same

Dharok, Torag, Verac legs are the same.

Neiti helm instead of a barrows helm btw.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Verac legs is better because of the prayer bonus. Defensewise they are the same as Ray said.

I'd suggest trying chealdar for a couple of tasks. You can switch to range on monsters that are too hard for melee and if you find yourself having to make too many trips to complete your tasks, go back to vannaka until mid 70s melee.

Have fun slaying!

Don't use D med when slaying.

Use a black mask or slayer helmet.

Well I intend to use a slayer helmet the moment I get 400 slayer points :D

I just started my slayer task with Chealdar, was around 120 trolls :) so not so bad. And I'm currently saving up for some barrows armour with the money made from farming in between slayer tasks :) So soon I will be able to mix & match on armour to get a decent set-up

Thanks all for your input, it has helped a great deal :)

Heh, wow, I just realised the expensive side really does come from the helmet/weapons of barrows sets XD

I can see myself gearing up sooner than expected. Should I bother about purchasing these barrows weapons? - Currently I have a whip and a dragon scimitar, are these barrows weapons going to be better?

Thanks.

Don't bother with the weapons. Whip owns them without full set.

A whip is all you need. Just equal your stats and train by controlled

(You get 0.001% more hp xp).

But a good weapon alone in the barrows stuff would be a karils cbow. :P

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Nice, and I am trying to equal my CB stats out atm :) - Good to know it will work well with the whip.

Thanks again all for the help, you have pretty much answered any query I had about barrows, something I have never explored before :)

Happy Christmas All! =P~
