Side note: A little dissapointing, I was expecting more from a Pheonix...

 

[hide=PHEONIX]Today (1/06) the quest In Pyre need was released, along with the Familiar and Pet Pheonix...

 

 

 

The quest is quite easy, you can finish it in 3 minutes, without a guide. Go to Piscatoris and talk to Brain Twitcher; it's obvious what to do from there and there are no required you can't obtain from him.

 

 

 

I know most of you are curious about the Pet and Familiar, which both require 72 Summoning. After you finish the quest, you obtain 5 Pheonix quills which are the secondary ingredient for the Pheonix Familliar. You can get another 5 daily from doing the Diversions and distractions. It was quite easy for me, being level 133. I just wore Dragonhide and used Piety to get all the way through, and used Protect Magic and Piety on the Pheonix. It is definetely recommended to Protect Magic for lower levels, though.

 

 

 

~The quills can be sold in the Grand exchange for ~5000-20000 each.

 

 

 

You have a chance of obtaining the pet after you kill the Pheonix. After leaving the cave, you can get lost and find an egg patch. You can get a mean one by kicking an egg, or a nice one by clapping. (Whole paragraph needs confirmation. Most likely accurate.)

 

 

 

Facts on Pheonix:

 

 

 

Max hit: 13

 

 

 

HP: Pretty low... (Confirmation needed)

 

 

 

Attack Style: Magic

 

 

 

Accuracy: I'd say very high... it's hitting more than most familiars at it's level.

 

 

 

Right click: Ash-blast - Takes an ash to activate. It seems to do more

 

damage/hit more accurate, although there is no current facts I can draw.

 

 

 

Special: (12 points) It requires you to drop an ash, which means that you can't use it in places such as Duel arena, because you can't drop items.[/hide]

To start off, it's Phoenix, not Pheonix :mrgreen:

It may be worth noting it's defence is incredibly low, I tried it at chaos tunnel fire giants and if I didn't bring scrolls it would be long dead.

Actually, this ability doesn't require ash, it MAKES an ash below the monster/player you used the ability on. This ash is 100% ready to be scrolled and revive your phoenix.

I agree with the accuracy aswell, it was hitting alot on fire giants (as well as being hit alot).

 

As for the duel arena, it's possible that the right click ability will work, therefore spawning an ash below the player, letting you use the scroll (don't know why anyone would bother attacking your phoenix though).

With my stats, will I be able to survive a run through the cavern with good gear and food and a battle against the Phoenix?

 

 

 

I want to get started on the daily rewards before Jagex decides to lower the rewards.

Jagex can't change this... or make it worse, at least. It's not that great of a reward.

 

 

 

But I'd think it would be pretty hard for you, but it might be possible. I would bring a few Saradomin brews just in case, though. Piety does help a lot, I would highly recommend you get it not just for this, but for everything else in Runescape. Piety is the god Prayer :thumbup:

Upon rebirth the phoenix does some type of area-effect attack. However it seems wildly inaccurate...might just be the monsters I tested on though. Also if you get this to happen to a huge group of monsters, it will make the loudest sound in the game...lol

i did it with my stats, and it's quite doable. but note I used 5 or 6 sharks and 3 prayer pots.

 

 

 

so if you think it's worth the money of the prayer pots ( you can get that back from selling the quils I think) it should be possible
