Summoning: Which pouches to keep?

Recommended Posts

I am at level 60 summoning so far, its my lowest skill. Despite that, I have not used too many familiars the whole time i've been raising it.

Which familiars are worth hanging on to, at my level and ones in future levels? Which pouches should I keep, which ones should I exchange for shards, and which ones should I alch?

At the moment, I have (in order of lowest to highest):

Spirit Spider (I use it for its egg spawn)

Granite Crabs

Desert Wyrm

Compost Mounds

Beaver Pouch

Pyrelord

Magpie

Bloated Leech

Spirit Terrorbird

Abyssal Parasite

Ibis

Spirit Larupia

Spirit Graahk

Spirit Kyatt

So far i've gotten rid of:

Dreadfowl

Spirit Kalphite

Iron Minataur

Bronze Minataur

Honey Badger

... and I believe one or two other odd types here and there.

Also, is there any pouches that I do not have that would be useful to have that I do not presently?

I'm considering trying a macaw for its herb foraging, if its effective enough. Also, I think the Desert Wrym might be useful for mining, but I have not tried it out despite having afew.

I dont PK, i'm more of a skiller if it helps.

Yeah i'm still debating whether many of them will be useful for skilling or not. Desert Wyrms dont seem to forage ore any higher than iron, so I doubt it will be too useful. Its also a invisible boost it seems, so it wont help like a dwarven stout would.

I figured the terrorbirds would be by far among the most useful, with its run restore and being a beast of burden. I cannot see the use in bull ants, while terrorbirds hold more and are cheaper.

Yeah I probably will atleast hold on to the kyatts, graahks and terrorbirds. As far as others, still debating.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, taking them into consideration.

The best way to raise summoning is to make the highest amount of XP giving pouch you can at your level then trade back for shards. Buy all the pouches you need.

Why waste a blue on the Kyatt when you get far more XP for a Titan?

You can buy most pouches fairly quickly on the GE.

Spirit Spider (I use it for its egg spawn): Do you really need to save money on eggs that badly?

Granite Crabs: Ibis is better

Desert Wyrm: Rubbish

Compost Mounds: Only useful for farming level boost. Compost is cheap

Beaver Pouch: No info, probably useless

Pyrelord: Not useful at all

Magpie: Useful for pickpocketing

Bloated Leech: Fairly useful as combat familiars go, but combat familiars are useless in general

Spirit Terrorbird: Awesome

Abyssal Parasite: Awesome, Throw out once you can make lurkers

Ibis: Use whilst Fishing

Spirit Larupia:Teleport

Spirit Graahk: Teleport

Spirit Kyatt: Teleport
