Well, i really want the questcape. I don't have an issue doing all the quests, only getting the requirements for the hard quests. There are only 3 i'm worried about, 69 smithing (rocking out), 63 herb (While guthix sleeps), and 62 Farming (WGS). I can boost the 63 and 62 to 65 so thats not an issue. But here are my questions:

1) Whats an inexpensive and decently fast way to train smithing 56-65 in f2p?

I was thinking about superheating steel bars which is decent exp and a little profit along w/mage exp.

(I don't want to lose more than 300-500k max - I will become a member at level 65 smithing so i can continue that and train everything else).

2) How much would 40-62 herb cost if i buy all herbs and collect all seconds?

3) Should i farm ranarrs from 32 until 38 then do toadflax? What is the best herb for exp and cash at the same time.

Note:

I will do all quests to get the exp for herb and farming...Ex: Edgars Ruse and Fairy tale Pt. 1.

I will renew my membership after i get 65 smithing so i can make more cash and train skills.

I will be training farming while training herb/smith.

Thank you v much in advance

Ranarrs are quite good for earning money along with gaining exp.

I'm not so sure about toadflax.

Thanks

Someone told me the other day on tip.it that toadflax is also great for exp and cash because seeds are cheap and toadflax sells for quit a bit.. :?

Toadflax is good money because seeds are so low priced that one herb would be worth more.

For farming, I have a spreadsheet of the best herbs to plant; it's in my sig. I'd recommend sticking with the higher level herbs for the xp, though--so not just ranarr until 62. At the very least switch to toadflax and then kwuarm; you may even consider herbs like avantoe. I'd also recommend planting trees and fruit trees for fast xp.

For herblore, RS wiki has a handy calculator to find the gp/xp of potion-making: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Potions

Good luck on quest cape sir. :) Got mine a day or two ago.

For farming: I did Vinesweeper from 1-15. Oak trees + Guams to 30. 30-45 I did willow trees. Then 45-56 I did willows and ranarrs (Because maples were really expensive, substitute willows for maples if you have the money because it will come far faster then.) - After 56 I just did Kwuarms all the way to 63. Still do willows or maples if you have the money though. I had the money for willows but really just couldn't be bothered lol.

For herblore: Buy your way to 45 using whatever method you want. Then I farmed kwuarms, sold the kwuarms on the g.e and bought 2 irit potion (unfs) per kwuarm sold. Then I made the irit pots into Super Attacks all the way to 64, worked out fine.

For smithing: I lost a bit of money here. From 57-60 I did Gold Ore with Goldsmithing Gauntlets. This cost like 600k and you said you don't want to lose much. So you shouldn't do that. Iron Bars is fine though providing you use rings of forging. After 60 I went to the blast furnace. Used 1 mith ore and 2 coal ore to make a mithril bar. Then made the mithril bars into bolts. Did this from 60-69. Wasn't particularly fast but you don't lose much money, and it's a bit more interesting than conventional smithing.

I did solo Blast Furnace though, might be faster if you are in a team or on the themed world.

Toadflax is good cos slayers get loads of seeds. I get tons, far more than the others.

The resulting herb is also used in a popular potion, the sara brew, making it quite sought after for higher levelled herblorists.

Trust the Gene Genie!

you cant boost for rocking out

you will need the base 69 to start it

mith bolts with sc hammers is great

farming-curry/pineapple/maples and ranarrs seem to be better than snap for profit imo

Don't forget, while doing the quests that you haven't done yet, there are many opportunities to earn exp in the skill that you need.

It is a good idea to take advantage of any stat boosting opportunities available. Devious minds, for example can be boosted to (yet rocking out can't). I have 4 more quests to be able to wear my cape again as well, and have been superheating iron ore and making it into darts. It isn't the fastest smithing xp, but superheating is the fastest mage xp, so I am killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

He said he was getting it to 65 in F2P then going to get members and get to 69.
