Look at Mercifull's picture. Your text it too tall, we don't mind the odd line of text, but yours is too much.

Mine is five lines. Many others as much or more then that:

 

 

 

Dork, Dark_Aura, warrior5024. A few names I saw while glancing through the users; there are literally dozens of people with 6+ lines.

 

 

 

Quotes alone are 3 lines in themselves; signatures like dpattle (equivalent of 12 lines of text) and sbrideau2000's are examples.

 

 

 

I would be willing to remove some of the image space or even put some of the text in a picture (awkward workaround? #-o ); I just have never seen a line limit, and there are many, many users with more.

325 pixels is also by no means the largest; signatures like mrknowitall, Guthan312, baalboy5's and jemathonical have been unchanged for a long time.

 

 

 

Heck, even Necromagus is over 300.

To be honest, so many people abuse the signature limits that maybe it would be a good idea to impose a signature ban on people who break the rules? Such as a week without signature for first offense, a month for second etc. I know it is possible from an administrative point of view at least ;)

A lot of people don't even know that they're over the limit. Signature bans are reserved for people who go over the limit A LOT or for people who get their signature removed but they keep replacing it, despite the warning(s) that they receive. It would be excessive to start handing out bans for first time offenders.

Exactly, just because other people have large signatures, some of whose you've pointed out are actually fine, doesn't mean you can keep yours until everyone else has theirs removed first, or think you have some right to.

I'm saying that if TET members\mods have signatures as larger or larger then mine it's obvious there is something wrong - either you aren't communicating the 4 text line limit effectively enough, or it is not being enforced. I have no problem removing mine, but this could be handled better.
