Don't think there is one; I have tried failed curses with -65 mage attack and I succeed about 10% of the time (which is why dummies are best for cursing). At some monsters you'd probably hit reasonably well with -65 lol (like barrows brothers or dagannoth rex).

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

I don't actually think there is one. The chances of hitting with a magic attack is based on three things (I think), mage attack bonus, magic level and a bit of luck. The spell itself might contribuite to accuracy, I'm not sure. But even if you have a -100 mage attack bonus, you will still hit sometimes, because of your magic level and luck. It's probably very, very rare to hit with a -100 bonus however.

No such thing as luck in runescape.

Pureprayer, you're awesome.

Wearing full rune and air striking yields maybe 2-3 hits every 10 minutes, so it's pretty good, and the regular hp regeneration rate covers the damage. There's no specific mage bonus at which you stop hitting, and it's always possible.

What's all this about air strike?

Chance then.

What's all this about air strike?

You start attacking a NPC and AFK while your character gets the exp for splashing, not really a good way to train but if your lazy it's considerable...

Max negative magic bonus, and reduce magic lvl to zero.

You can't cast anything with 0 mage and if you get the bare minimum it's only temporary :| (only effective way I know of getting 0 mage is standing outside GWD).

Also, if you're looking to afk air strikes then you can wear d hide/mage armour and attack the wind mage south of ardougne, you never hit them with their own element.

A Draconic Guide V1.4, Fimer - Multi-Timer Farming Timer V3.

Dragon Boots: 39|Abyssal Whips: 16|Dark Bows: 1|

Cursing splashes with a -68 magic bonus (full metal armour, boots from SoS, green d'hide vambs, earth staff, no amulet). I did this method from 20 to 40 mage on my pure and I allways failed. Used it to get my mage to 55 starting at 46 and it failed. Plus I didn't curse dummies. (only Varrock guards)

Not sure about any other spell.

Actually, I'm pretty sure this isn't about training magic, but about getting drop potential.

Non-Multi Hotspot + two people in full rune using airstrike = lots of safe drop potential. As mage is not considered a "fun" weapon, this is the easiest and safest way to get drop potential now.

(Btw, all the way back into the Ham dungeon is a very good place to do this, as it's a hotsppot and usually quite empty)

Meh if that's the case, then the original poster should have been a little clearer...

I don't see anything about drop potential, so if you are indeed asking what negative bonus you need to always fail destroyon just try the dummies in Lumbridge or get behind the fence near the Al-Kharid gate in full metal armour and stuff like that. Uses curses or any spell like that until you manage to hit one and then change target.

Drop potential is the only thing that air strike's good for.

If you want easy xp, get a mudstaff, which can auto-curse, (it used to be able to, at least), wear full rune, and curse cows from behind the fence. However, that's still not a cheap or fast way to raise mage, so the only good reason to want to fail is drop potential.
