Norton 360...

Featured Replies

I have Norton 360 taking care of my firewall and antivirus, but I have a problem.

Every single day, without exception, it tries to:

  •
    [*:1pgw8f0g] Clear browser cache

    [*:1pgw8f0g] Check password strength

    [*:1pgw8f0g] Defrag my hard drive

    [*:1pgw8f0g] Clear my cookies

[*:1pgw8f0g] Clear my internet temporary files

    [*:1pgw8f0g] Backup my files

    [*:1pgw8f0g] And more which I don't remember

I have looked around it to try to stop it doing this, as it is incredibly annoying.

The only screen I found about scheduling is this one, which I have set to do these things monthly.

Any ideas?

Everyone else will tell you N360 sucks, probably because it does.

I used to have it, and I never had a problem with it doing that. It would do routine backups (I just selected my bookmarks which are tiny in filesize, anything bigger I found it took hours to backup) every month or however often. Really though you should probably get a different one, people here can advise you on decent choices.

I`m already planning to, but i have 9 months subscription left. I will change after that, but i`m hoping to fix this in the meantime.

Get rid of it. You can get a better anti virus for free (Avira) so ditch norton.

Ditch that and get a good antivirus like Avira/NOD32/Kaspersky.

I have Norton 360

Well there's your problem...

Time to start annoying the hell out of you guys

Norton actually got there act together with 360 and the latest release, it now uses far less resources (35mb of ram if I remember rightly) as well as still having the high detection and quick response times it used to have.

Which means its now up there with NOD32 and Kaspersky in the rankings. \'

So don't switch and lose out on a better package (then any free product).

As for the issue I honestly have no idea, your best bet would be to either read through the manual or submit a information/help request.

  • Dragon Axe x11
    Berserker Ring x9
    Warrior Ring x8
    Seercull
    Dragon Med
Dragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kc
    Godsword Shard (bandos)
    Granite Maul x 3

Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats]

Can people stop telling me to get something different already? I already said I am going to, once my subscription runs out. I'm looking to fix the problem while I am still stuck with norton.
