Everything is compartmentalized in testing. I can use the max hits and hit spreads for godsword vs. whip to determine the average hit when you hit (it's essentially your average between 0 and the max, so my wonderful hit spread charts went to waste :-# )

 

 

 

Basically, all the data I collect at GWD is the hit frequency; everything else can be brought it from other, easier testing sources (Obviously, the hit spread is the same regardless of the monster; already tested that). I also try to draw comparisons; I've found bandos defence very close to a 90-95 defence player in tank gear, so I can extrapolate when my results from there match my GWD numbers for greater overall accuracy; obviously I've tested more PVP then my paltry 6k bandos kills. It all boils down to accuracy; whip is roughly .70-.72 times as accurate as the godsword; with the 1.5 to 1 hit rate, we get higher overall accuracy coupled with the whips overall higher average hit, making for more DPM.

 

After reading quite a few of your posts arguing the whip is better I think this is the one that finally convinced me that you're right.

Soloing can be argued both ways, the +8 prayer and easier prayer switching really helps. But team bandos is the main form, and the most profitable; there the whips superior damage + the less frugal prayer\food makes it better.

I meant the GE price, I don't have any junk so I can't sell them with that if I got a pair from TDs.

It's hard to believe the GS is better at Bandos... but maybe it could be a possibility, I guess... I would have to see some hard proof, though.

In a team, a whip is better. Soloing it's more of a (I can't believe I would ever say this) personal thing; godsword has +8 prayer, and you won't lose a defender if you die. Plus, prayer flashing and eating is much easier with a godsword.

The only real whip vs. gs experience that I have at bandos is from crashing...and I have yet to be in a team that failed to overcome a team of a similar or slightly larger size using whips. I personally tried taking a whip and dfs on a solo attempt and barely finished 1 kill(2 sharks left, and really don't think he was ranging much). I can easily get 2 kills and sometimes up to 3 if I get lucky with specs with a sgs/bgs.

 

 

 

The prayer bonus really doesn't matter much soloing...and how does attack speed effect prayer switching? Unless the prayer that you were flashing was piety, which seems a bit inefficient while soloing...

If you flash piety, you are probably going to be synching your flashing with your attacks, so you're giving up the 25% defense while getting hit, most likely. Also, what's the point of flashing(and slowing the drain rate) while you have an increased prayer bonus? A sip or 2 of of ppot between kills is not that much of a hassle...

 

 

 

About the dfs being inferior to a defender, I see your point there, but I seriously doubt that the 20ish accuracy would help me to kill the general in time to stop me from getting 40 more damage while I had 72 less range defense(and 52 less strength bonus).

The defender bonus is basically a requirement anytime your meleeing, it has a huge effect on the acuracy thanks to the whip's high speed. Prayer flashing is generally used in teams, sometimes when soloing.
