Haz29
I recently started playing runescape again and i have finally decided to go for 85 smithing. I am currently level 81 and need about 1 million exp to acheive my goal. What is the most productive/cost effective way to train smithing, currently i only have about 1.2m. Unknown_Warrior
I'm not too sure on that Adamant Bar w/ Proto Tool bit. After all, the price difference between SC Addy Bolt smithing and Gold Smelting is virtually neglible. But the hammers take a looooong time to get. Imamonkey
Don't mean to hijack. But before long I am fixing to superheat at least 4k, more than likely more mithril bars. I imagine there will be some addy ones too. I was definitely planning on using them for range. Arrows/bolts. So I should make bolts over arrows huh. I alread have 85 fletch. I have around 65 or 75k iron and 102k steel arrows already. I got to 76 fletch just doing arrows! I have 80 range. I pretty much train range when I am f2p, so the arrows were always my best choice. At the same time I feel the steel are probably good enough for training on f2p. Back to question at hand. I should save the mithril and adamantite for bolts I am assuming for when I am p2p? They are going to be the better choice even though fletch experience is less. Ima be cool when I get 90 fletch anyway. Hell, I am happy with 85. I don't have to have 99 in everything like some. tripsis
It took me like two days to get from 81 - 85 smithing using SC Hammers and making adamant bolts. It really doesn't take that long to get hammers, Unknwnwrrior. I easily get 23-25 points per game, sometimes with 5 minutes left over. That's 72 points/3.6 hammers per hour. You need about sixteen hammers which would require 320 points / 14 games / 4 1/2 hours of work. That's the most cost and time efficient method to go about it, in my opinion. If you have money to burn then super heating gold is probably faster though. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
Zaaps1
Well if you're a member you pretty much got your work cut out for you from the above. But since you said you just came back to RS, I assume you're f2p. If not, then ignore me and just follow the above ideas, they're great. So for f2p, consider superheating. It's fantastic magic xp and decent smithing xp as well. Minimal loss=mithril bars. Alternatively, you could TRY iron nails if f2p is allowed to make those. I think I remember them being decent for cost if you sold them back to the General store but it's as slow as hell. Besides those, you're looking at a lot of spending on metal bars. ~It's Super Effective!
