February 22, 200917 yr I'm lactose intolerant, but after drinking milk every day for almost a year now, I'm not a quarter as bad as I used to be. Does this count as a miracle cure? I was diagnosed as lactose intolerant (also by confirmed laboratory tests/blood samples), at about 11 or 12 I just started hating not being able to eat regular ice cream, milk, etc... So I started eating & drinking things containing milk just as normal. The entire condition went away by about age 15. I could drink 5 glasses of milk or eat portions of ice cream at friends' birthday parties etc Not that it's advisable at all for most people; If you're allergic to something, just the smell alone can cause serious respiratory aches or worse... But the 'exposure' method can definitely work Apparantly I was lactose intolerant as well and had to drink a special kind of milk. I'm completely "over it" now though, being a daily drinker of regular full cream milk. According to wiki, rehabituation is possible for people with less severe lactose intolerance: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactose_in ... y_products There's a .edu link there, but I haven't got time to read it now.

February 28, 200917 yr This is great, one of my best friends is deadly allergic to peanuts. I don't know if it would work for him though, just a slight smell of peanuts gives him trouble breathing :| 99 Hunter - November 1st, 200899 Cooking -July 22nd, 200999 Firemaking - July 29th, 201099 Fletching - December 30th, 2010

I don't know if it would work for him though, just a slight smell of peanuts gives him trouble breathing :| They'd start out with extremely small amounts of peanut, and build it up from there, but if he were that allergic they probably wouldn't even try. Peanut allergies must suck pretty hard. Half of what I eat is peanut butter.
