The Last Frontier of Runecrafting: The Soul Altar

Dude, did you even add a smiley onto that or anything? Talk about a wasted post.

I still think they'll have more use down the road. They can make it epic if they want to.

The last frontier is obviously the sea. We still havn't gotten into Sailing which should come out by July 14th according to a formula I have devised. It includes the dates of every update and significantly is based on new skills and major updates. Of course it's only a matter of time until my formula is proved right. It's so obvious.

I HIGHLY doubt Jagex releases updates based on formulas of any kind, but I'd like to see this one of yours...

Hellbellz, you left these behind. I think you forgot to put them in

I must have forgot them as well. >.<

Elemental Workshop IV I think. Mind, body, soul.

The soul altar definitely won't be released in the Elemental Workshop series. I don't think it has much potential but I can definitely see where you're coming from. Also, I'm not saying the series is "too small" to release big things, look at Plague City. It just doesn't seem to fit, and although it would place the soul altar underground, which fits with the pattern I'm expecting, under Seers' Village seem to be the wrong place for it... it seems to me that the soul altar would be better placed at the far edges of the world, as the death and blood ones were. Most likely in the south, since there aren't any altars there and it sort of seems to fit in the desert as I mentioned earlier.

It's really hard to place the soul altar somewhere logical, because "soul" doesn't really fit well into any area of RuneScape as far as I can tell. All the others do. I think we have to look at the content of areas rather than just the terrain, because the blood altar being under a swamp makes no sense, but coupled with vampyres, it's nearly as obvious as the fact you're reading this post. We just need to find a similar connection with soul.

I had a kind of 'out of the box' idea about the soul altar the other day.

I personally thought it could be deep inside karamja volcano, deep inside the tzaar city where they won't let us access. something must be giving life to all these creatures of obsidian. It would also give reason for the everlasting fire of the volcano, the sheer power of the altar forcing the volcano to continuously erupt. Those magic tzaars are hiding something down there, and this could be just the thing.

:P ha. nice one, jard.

I was thinking about somewhere in the Corp's lair or maybe a new dungeon but the Summer's End storyline has been finished.

It doesn't make sense the soul altar would have anything to do with the Summer series, because it would seem that if it were, it would be in the spirit realm. And all the other altars are in the real RuneScape, so for consistency, the soul altar is probably corporeal.

I say it's hidden within Arposandra.

Now that I think about it, that makes perfect sense. Glouphire, in Arposandra, is meddling with the Anima Mundi (Latin for "The Soul of the World"), which has a LOT to do with souls... Hazelmere also said that it may have been time to pass the guardianship of the spirit trees on to our characters... and since he was killed by that damned Mahjarrat Lucien, someone has to take care of them. Good chance there will be a epic quest where we confront Glouphire and destroy him, find the soul altar, and become the guardian of the spirit trees.

Plus Soul Wars is nearby (Arposandra is 99% guaranteed to be underground of the Poison Waste, from what we know).

Perhaps when Jagex was talking about the biggest, deepest storyline they ever attempted... maybe they REALLY meant #150. The gnome, elf and dwarf series are all linked together, along with Monkey Madness. Perhaps the sequel and end of all these series will come together in a MEGA EPIC QUEST and release the soul altar?!
