Georgelemmons
So, I tried to mage the Giant Scarab from Contact!, and got obliterated. :x I have no real mage armour, and haven't done DT yet. At my stats, could I melee him? Also, what kind of setup should I use, depending on whether I mage or melee? ~Thanks in advance. Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <
Cooldude3910
My first attempt I tryed melee and I got raped. Second time I used Earth Wave and I killed him in a short time and didn't eat any food. So yeah, use Earth Wave Edit: Earth is the only thing that is strong against him I think.
pureprayer
Torags, supset, familiar with food in it (if you could), and pizzas. Learn to eat without wasting a combat turn also. Pureprayer, you're awesome.
Georgelemmons
Okay, I'll give you my setup: Earth Wave (Earth Staff) Runecrafter's Robes Ring of Life Inventory: Lumby tab Bloods Airs 1 Waterskin 1 Empty space (coins to use carpet) 23 tuna potatoes. I ripped through the potatoes almost as fast as I could eat -.- And pure, how would I eat without delaying combat? Just eat right after I cast? For melee its generally before the hit appears, but you dont stop in mid-animation to eat.. Pureprayer, you're awesome.

(I forgot, but I safespotted him, and he started maging me :( ) Also, what prayer and armour did you use? dannyb103
That's your problem then mate. As I recall the Scarab uses Ranged attacks, not magic. Summer's EndWhile Guthix Sleeps 3 more days until deadline!
SportsGuy
There is a safe-spot that let me kill the thing without taking a single point of damage from his "helpers" and by using prayer. I don't think it's pointed out on Tip.It, but do a quick search on the web for Contact!, safe spot, RuneScape and you should find it. Hedgehog
Run up to the scarab with range protect on, then run back to Kalif's body and use that as a safespot, it worked well for me. Good luck.
Georgelemmons
So when the scarab attacks from a distance, it's a ranged attack? That would've helped me :wall: Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <
The Runar
I tank maged it with Wind Wave. Melee armor is strong vs. melee and ranged and I used protect from mage. Used monks as food. I think I had 63 mage and 88 combat. The Runar's (OSRS) DIY blog - most viewed Blogscape blog ever! Contract? /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\
