Splashing is a miss, missing is a miss.

 

 

 

Hitting a zero because of low strength hits a zero.

 

 

 

Hitting a zero because the spell hits a zero is basically the same as above.

Look- magic can hit a 0 -0.5 also. Melee can also do the same. Prove to me that splashing is hitting 0 then.

 

 

 

Magic doesn't rely on any factor of strength. You can hit a 16 with fire blast at level 59 and at level 99. A higher level does not make one specific spell hit higher.

 

 

 

So with magic, you are drawing a number out of a hat when you hit. With melee/range, you are incorporating your Strength/Ranged Strength equipment bonuses with your Strength/ranged level, then rounding.

Ok... When you splash with magic, you don't get any XP, you don't deal any damage, and you don't get the benefit of any special bonuses from that attack. The same applies to melee. When you miss, you don't deal any damage, you don't get any XP, and you don't get any special bonuses from that attack (i.e. SGS healing, ZGS freezing).

But the fact that you get xp from splashing doesn't really mean anything here. You can just subtract the base xp from the xp you get when you DO hit.

Don't worry, they still are. But that doesn't have anything to do with my point about splashing and hitting - in fact, ti's an advantage; mage still gets some XP when it misses, melee gets none whatsoever.
