i heard somthin from a friend a few months ago. He was talking about a similar scam, but it only worked with cash and a separate item. Heh dunno :?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

needle scam... needles were practically invisible and stackable. so people would offer 100k and 1 needle (which looked like 1,000,001 gp) for stuff worth like 200k...

 

 

 

I remember a guy offering 50k and a needle for my full rune or somethin... he didnt have 100k :lol:

yeah i remember that scam....but i believe this an actual program or hack

there has been fun hacks where u can edit ur side of the client to show stuff u dont actually have for ages i believe...but then again the item isnt actually there. I think its related but now much more vicious considering u can affect other's client...just a theory lol

well....good thing i have taken a liking to only trading with people i trust here in times of late...

well...i wouldnt say that...just dont trade rares for nything except rares, or cash...dont accept rares +cash

its most likely a hex editor telling the server that it has x+1000000 amount of money but you really have x amount of money so when u trade u only get the x of the other person

 

 

 

so x+1000000=false to server

 

 

 

but x+1000000=true to visuals

same thing happened to me, i was selling a mask set, the guy offered 1mil cash and a few items grrrrrrrrrrr i hate scammers, i got the items and not the cash

mabye u didnt check it and your just trying to vent cuz u messed up??

To everyone saying that it's only visual on the client side.....when you trade, on your side it's visual, but on the other side, it passes through the server..making it not real again.... I highly doubt it's a hex editor.

well I have to say..it'll be hard for Jagex to patch this..considering what the people are doing is packet editting..heck I've seen some games use software like nprotect to protect them..nope doesn't work bypasses and things can be done to get thru..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But it seems they're doing cash cause it's an easy packet(s) to modify...so if you trade cash for their items you should be safe..

note: this isn't an in-game glitch..so it's not that easy to patch anyway..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They could try changing the value #/ID of the gold/gp or try encrypting that packet..
