Dragonlordjl
Do While Guthix Sleeps and then spend a week soloing Tormented Demons. Not only will you have a chance to make some fat stacks, it's also the best conditioning for prayer switching. After a week in that hell hole, your reflexes with switching prayers immediately on a graphical cue will improve threefold.
Laikrob
Hi, and welcome to Tip.It forums. : Moved this to Help & Advice for you. As someone already pointed out, please post all RuneScape related questions in this forum. :) Laikrob, Tip.It Moderator You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?

Yagami
[hide=]hello i just registered on tip.it today and im still not sure where to post this so hear it goes, well anyway im going to be attempting to get a fire cape :) my skills are attack:85 strength:85 defense:80 range:80 hp:85 prayer:70 im very nervous on this and i would like some suggestions from people on whether or not my armor/inventory items are going to be able to get the job done (also i will take any advice/tips/pointers on how to get the cape succesfully) also how many attempts you think it will take. here is the armor i was planning on using ----------------------- verac helm verac skirt karil top amulet of fury(or should i just use glory?) god book(which one should i use? or use falador sheild #2?) snakeskin boots avas attractor recoil ring black d vams(havent aquired barrows gloves yet) rune c bow around 5k addy bolts 200 diamond for jad also, here is my inventory setup -------------------------- 16 super restores 6 sara brews 3 range pots, or should i use 2 range pots 14 prayer pots 4 super restore 8 sara brews i also might bring 1 or 2 manta rays, and my friend is letting me borrow sgs for health/pray heal. so please help me out on suggestions/inventory changes also what methods you used. thank you :)[/hide] Drop the god book, you have a high enough prayer level to use a Granite Shield, and with 80 Defence, the shield would benefit you more. Take 3 Range pots, not 2, not 4. You will need 1.5k Adamant bolts MAXIMUM. The 200 Diamond bolts for Jad is fine, although 100-150 will do, as long as you use the accumulator. The armour set-up is perfect, use an Amulet of Fury, it's defence bonuses outweigh an Amulet of Glory by a whole lot. 17 Super Restores 7 Saradomin Brews 3 Ranging Potions 100-200 Diamond Bolts (e) ^That should be all that's in your inventory As for the Saradomin Godsword, I really don't see the need for this, if you feel like taking it, take it, but personally, an extra brew or Restore would help alot more, In my opinion. Facing Jad: [hide=]Watch some videos, work out what Jad's sounds sound like, I'll try to explain. The moment you've killed that last 360, you should be standing in the north-east corner. You should have Range Prayer ON every second Jad is alive and you can't see him. You should have Sound Effects on. If you hear nothing and then something quickly comes down, it's Range, Jad's close to you, run to him and watch his feet. If you can't see him and you hear something that people say sounds like the Retribution prayer activating, he's readying his Magic attack, you have little more than a second to turn on your Magic prayer. I like to say it sounds like when you roll a bowling-ball down an alley, that's what his magic attack sounds like. When he is in your sights, get close enough to him to see exactly what he's doing, keep Auto Retaliate on. If he quickly bangs the floor with his feet and little yellow shock waves come out around him, it's range. If he bends over and that sound occurs, it's magic. I'm not sure how to describe the healers, just put Long range on, attack them all individually once per prayer switch, get them all on you and try to kill most of them, this isn't needed, but it's safer to kill a few of them. Once the healers are off of Jad, just keep attacking him until he's dead, obviously. :) Good luck with this battle.[/hide] Getting to Jad: [hide=]This is how I do things. I stay mainly in the South-west corner, on the southern side of the west rock that sticks out, touching the side of it. Kill any Tz-Kih's when you see them, unless they're behind something and they can't get you, leave them for now. Kill 45s last, trap them the corners of rocks. Kill 90s before anything else, pray range vs these, once these are dead, you can save your prayer. When the 180s appear, trap them, do not attack them when they're are able to attack you, these can hit quite hard and they can heal themselves and others around it if you are in melee range. When the 360s appear, pray mage whenever a 360 is alive, at all times, do not ever take off mage prayer. If a 360/90 is attacking you but a Tz-Kih is coming towards you, kill the Tz-Kih first. If a 45 is trapped behind another 45 or a 180, kill the 45 furthest away from you, be careful not to try to attack something too far as stepping out too far can be painful. Kill the little mini 45's (level 22) if they are trapped behind another 45 or a 180 and nothing is attacking you. When 360's and 90s appear, pray range and kill the 90's first with steel skin on if you feel the need.[/hide] I hope this is useful to you, and good luck when you try to get that lovely hot cape (Excuse the pun.) -Breathes- You COULD get it on your first try. You could take 25. (My friend, 99 defence and range got it on his 26th try.) One last note of advice TRY NOT TO DRINK TOO MUCH DURING THE CAVES. Honestly, you might think you're a bit thirsty at the start, go easy on the drinks, you don't want to be needing to go when Jad's coming, don't do yourself any damage. :) ~Devilsbr0 I would like to get the most difficult 99 in the game to accomplish. which is woodcutting. because I had a drunken night in philadelphia and sprayed a fire extinguiser, evacuated a 7 story hotel on the philly stadium, spent the night in jail.. then got on level 2 prob & have to pay 50 a month because I have a job. It's their way of collecting more money out of me.

Itsjustagame
don't use granite shield. It has a -8 range attack. D sq, DFS, or even the spirit shield would be better. I personally would use an unholy book for the prayer bonus and the +8 range attack since I have high defense. But I don't have luck with Jad and I disconnect everytime
Esu
As a tip, be sure you pay attention to the sounds while fighting Jad. I used that moreso than I did the animation to determine which Prayer to use. His Magic attack is extremely obvious with your typical offensive Magic attack (blast, wave, bolt, strike, etc.), in terms of sound, and gives you plenty of reaction time. krankdatkarl
is my defense high enough(80) where i can use unholy book like you said? keep suggestions coming
Itsjustagame
is my defense high enough(80) where i can use unholy book like you said? keep suggestions coming depends on how good you are are the safe spots/not getting hit getting to them. when you get to the part with the rangers constantly attacking you near the end, you're going to want all the range defense you can get. At 80 defense, I'd use a shield.

homowz
Granite or crystal. or get a blessed spirit shield=>3+ pray bonus and no negative range att bonus. otherwise, if you want the range def, get a dfs(way better than a granite shield) [hide]visage drop 11/01/09goals:all skills 70+ (completed)all skills 80+98% Of teenagers surround their minds with rap music, if you're part of the 2% that stayed with rock, put this in your signature, ROCK IS BETTER![/hide]
krankdatkarl
well i can either borrow my friends sgs or borrow my other friends dfs for fight caves, which should i go with and which will save my butt more often? i
homowz
the sgs is not of such a great use, only good for healing a little on the lower monsters. also, a dfs cant be borrowd so that isnt an option. also, if u arent taking the sgs, take a whip with u for killing the lvl90s since they got low hp and can easely be KOed in 2hits with a whip. if u cant affort a dfs id go for the blessed spirit shield or the granite shield [hide]visage drop 11/01/09goals:all skills 70+ (completed)all skills 80+98% Of teenagers surround their minds with rap music, if you're part of the 2% that stayed with rock, put this in your signature, ROCK IS BETTER![/hide]
