A Nostalgic Look at Holidays Past

Featured Replies

The newer holiday events are becoming advertising schemes to get F2P to start paying membership. They tease them with Imp Catching and Summoning stuff, and they get profit.

My favourite event was Halloween last year. <3'd the decor around the towns.

my first holiday event was halloween 2005. the first one i actually did was that christmas. I think the best event to far has been easter 06

No event was better than the easter where rubber chickens were given out. (05 I think?).

- It was short (Don't get me wrong, however sometimes the long ones aren't exactly fun as you get to pointless parts. All the short ones imo were actually fun enough to go back and spend even more time messing around. (Anyone who played for the rubber chicken easter, remember the crowds, at every day of the event, doing the event, and people yelling "Egg me!"? Now that was fun to mess with. The H'ween with the zombie head was also fun to go trick-or-treating after it too.)

- It was fun afterwards (See above)

- The reward was one of the best. (Rubber chicken is awesome. Carrot just wishes it could be cool like that)

the trick is to balance all of these methods to get 99 and either play real life or train another skill while farming.

Best holiday item: Wintumber tree(I might be a little bias because I suggested it, but I still think it was awesome)

Best event: It's a tough choice.. Halloween 2007 maybe.

Someone said the RuneScape Classic events were the best ones, but I have to disagree completely. I was only around for the Scythe drop but it was still a pain because you couldn't choose when you wanted to do the event, if you weren't on at the right moment you could miss it completely. Then of course the rares from before the bunny ears ruined the economy as well, but I'm still talking eventwise.

The best was when rares were falling out of the sky AND they were tradable :)

I remember getting up at 2am for the drops lol. Then buying them from noobs all day long.

My favorite hoiday item that I got was my precious Pumpkin head.

I wore it in the Tipit Pic.

I started playing I think a month after the Easter Rubber Chickens, and the only item I didn't get since then is last year's Easter.

My favorite event was Christmas 2005. I liked the fact that there were 8 rewards and that you had to take some time to do the whole thing if you wanted all the rewards. I still wear my Tri-jester Hat all the time. I liked the Halloween 2008 event too although it wasn't as cool as the previous year's.

I guess my favorite sorts of events are ones with multiple rewards that are neat and unique, like the hats/scarves and the skeleton suit/pumpkin head (Halloween 2006 I think). I think Jagex needs to go back to doing those instead of these awful and really unclear ones (Easter 2009).

9 Rewards, don't forget your present from santa, that lovely marionette! <3

Haha! I did that for Santa Hats! I remember the day after, they were selling for 30k a piece. I remember standing in Ardougne North bank and someone needed a rune large helm, so they offered me a santa hat for mine. I accepted. :D
