They give a +5 prayer bonus and a + something magic defense bonus. They aren't great defense-wise, but I like them because they're cheap, although the fally shields sort of replaced them. Sy_Accursed Posted April 11, 2009 Share Posted April 11, 2009 In terms of shields Granite is good low end and for pking in p2p (if you're not rich) Obby shield is the next step up and a fair bit better though still not amazing Godbooks and Broodoo sheilds are a good staple for any mage or ranger Fally shield 3 is THE ultimate prayer tank shield DFS is the outright winner of shields for melee atm. For defensive purposes and the str boost it is the best going. Although it has the same defence stats as granite i believe that the strength bonus is a good way to start. But get that defender asap! Then if you ever get the money get the DFS..... it OWNS! Defence + strength. once you get the defender, use those. Gained first quest cape on 3/22/09!
