The karils shield sounds pretty cool, as well as Torag's dual shields. Maybe make the karils shields as a hidden crossbow so that you can attack twice after you attack once with a weapon. As for Torag's dual shields, you can sling them do damage with them. They're considered range, so your damage depends on your range lvl. Yup, my additions that will plague your idea.

Karils shield making you attack twice would meen that Jagex would have to redo the ranged attack bonus on Karils armour, seeing as 2 attacks with karils armour would overpower ranged against melee and magic.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Torag's shields being a "ranged -weapon-"? Shields are used for protection.. Not to fling them at someone.. Also, with Torag's ranged attack (in the neggatives) It just plain wouldn't make sence...

Lol, yes i was being serious in my previous post. And no i wasn't serious about this post. And another suggestion, try giving the shields that are round a more unique shape. Such as a stretched out hexagon, a triangle, etc.

might work but i think karil would have the buckler since a buckler is usualy used by rangers.

I like the idea, it sounds good and has potential. Having barrow shields would be nice, useful for those who prefer to be defensive. Good idea! :)

karil should have a large tower sheild. During medieval times, crossbowmen would stand up and shoot over the sheild, and would crouch behind it to avoid being hit by the opposing side's archers while they reloaded. they were called "pavise crossbowmen". just my idea =P

That's why I'm trying to make the shields kinda small. They still count in the shields equipment space but their small so it would make some sence :)

Possibly you might think up extra set effects, so as we know it Full Torags has the -20 energy special, but with Shield, Guantlets and Boots, you can take away another 20% or something like that.

I think rs needs a wider selection of shield....i either use the granite shield of dragon square....the other shields worth using are rune kites and they look silly....i need a shield to go with my dharok armour :(

I don't know if anybody said this but, with the full sets, the effects are magnified. Like thiswith EVERYTHING:

 

 

 

Dharok - Along with the extra damage, your Strength is increased by 15%.

 

Guthan - Your Hitpoints are recovered on a scale of 2:1

 

Verac - It ignores Prayer, Armor bonuses, Potion bonuses, and decreases their defense by 15% too.

 

Torag - Takes away 30% run energy and gives it to you.

 

Ahrim - Decreases Strength and Attack of your opponent.

 

Karil - I'd personally like to just replace the special but, takes away the Agility AND "entangles" your opponent for 15 seconds.

 

 

 

That's my 2 cents.

I still think that the 2 handed nature of all the weapons is still the main problem. If you can fill the shield slot with a barrows item that you would have to be able to fill it with any other item.

 

 

 

On a more positive note though, I do like the idea. However, I think it might end up overpowering already very powerful sets.

They now have barrows gloves, the Dark Gloves.

Nope, the main thing about barrows is the awesome power, but loss of a bit of defence. Not that anyone would notice with the whole awesome armour bonuses. The weapons are all two handed, and should remain that way. I have a better idea about making barrows more interesting, but thats another thing for another suggestion topic.
