My First Pixel Sig - *Finished Tweaking*

Featured Replies

Ok so I've moved the belt up as far as possible, shrunk the sun, tweaked the sky colours, added grass texture, put in some vines on the weird temple, added some birds in the sky so here it is:

If you can find anything else about it that could be altered don't hesitate to say

very nice wip, 6/10 so far but you really need to work on cleaning up the linework, you shouldn't just draw the sig with the pencil tool cus it looks really messy like here for example.

try keep it clean, I just cleaned that bit up for ya.

Looks nicer and its much easier to colour and shade, Adding more colour would help cus so far it looks as if its gonna be very b&w  . Red robe may help, make sure you make some cool swirly clouds in the sky or even an orangey sky like its early in the mornin  .. people have bin flamed for the one flaw of having just a blank blue sky is why I say that.

I am leaving the sky til last to make sure I get it right

I know the line work is messy atm, but I am kind of cleaning it up as I sahde an area and intend to colour over the lines when I'm done

I am goinng to remove the path near the front to get rid of alot of the b&w ness of it as with the robes dun I can see it won't be gd with that there. But i'm gonna make sure I use alot of brightish greens and blues to avoid it being to dull

I say: Shorten his torso a bit (his legs are to small, if you just move the belt up, it should help) and cut a few pixels off the armrobes. Also, no-ones sixpack shows underneath robes, take it out. Instead, try and draw folds.

Hi paw claw ;)

I like this style its kinda like patchwork, you should do another 8/10 for a first one though

And no lol why do you always want to get stuff from John Lewis. Its over ̣̉300 more then than what i paid.

John Lewis is a great, great shop.

Thanks, I know I can do better next time as I got the hang of it by the end, like when I put the clouds and 3 rock clusters in I juts drew splodges then knew where to shade easily where as start with bit labourious and slow

Looks nice. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the lack of texture. Grass (well close up at least) isn't just all one colour. It screams out texture me.

Another thing is that his face stands out a lot because it has black outline on it and nothing else does. If you're going to do the no black outline style, make sure it's consistent... otherwise it looks a bit weird (maybe try a darker skin colour?)

Last but not least is the sun, which is well, too big I guess. Kinda looks like the sun is another hill but just orange and all flamey.

Just what I think, it's a lot better than a lot of other peoples first tries.

I think it looks good for your first.

Ok I sorted his face out and shrunk the sun andf fair bit.

But I can't think of how to give the grass more texture than it already has the varies green tones, so nay furhter input on that would be helpful

Take a look at this one I did yesterday.

sigbyblazersample4pc.png

Right click on it and press save as... save it somewhere and zoom in on the grass in an imaging program (paint). Notice the texture on the grass? It's fairly simple (although time consuming) to do. Just keep zooming out or looking at the preview to see if it looks right.

Looks good! Now try covering the whole nearest hill (the one he's on) with that kind of texture. Make the size of the grass texture appropriate to how far away it is. So for the next hill, you'd make it a lot smaller until eventually you're just putting 1 pixel dots down on the further away hills.

I dunno if you or other people like that kind of idea of the texture but hey, it seems to look a lot better then just plain grass green.

well i think its about time i posted on this topic.. i think im a little late anyway tho.

this is your first right?

well first i'd like to say that at the church you choice a side light rather then a back light, when having a backlight highlights show up at both edges of the building.

you shouldnt have ignored godslayers advise to be honest, he was quite right.

i like the setting well thought up

sig7to.png

now as you can see i made some fast changes to show some stuff.

the boat you maid was quite .. odd and unrealistic so i gave you a basic model of how one looks like from afar.

i pwn fwuffy

try following the stick model i gave perhaps copy and past it out and use it for something else but atleast practice with it and try to make another one with the same technique.

and fingers are always cool to add :D

no other major critics ill see how you advance next sig.

I was having troulbe with tht boat couldn't figure how to make it look right.

I know about the stick figure but it lookeds right to begin with and by the time I realised is wasn't I was to far along to change it majorly, but am gonna be extra careful when making the characters in future sigs

the church didn't even think about it but now I do tht is kind of obvious

the muscles on the guy I know don't really fit but I just wanted to see if i could do them as it was my first attempt

I am gonna do another later this week or next week taking into account all the advise from here to hopefully come out with something better straight off, but I aren't gonna tweak this one anymore
