I just wanna say that, in my opinion at least, ruining people's lives for some rats is inexcusable.

I'm probably one of the few people who have no qualms with human experimentation so long as the human is raised for experimentation. The reason why I say this is because humans are "domesticated" by their parents as they are growing up and this gives you the illusion that we are intelligent.

Strange as it may seem, I completely understand where you're coming from here. Being a Computer Science Student, I've already dabbled my toes in the Cybernetics and Artificial Intelligence pools - and I have been lectured by one of the very best experts in modern day AI: Professor Kevin Warwick (world's first official cyborg - or so he claims). But I'm straying off the point, he says exactly the same as you do - Intelligence is an illusion. We know what we know, because we have the ability to learn. At the end of the day, we are no more intelligent than a machine or an animal, we have just learnt that bit more. We learn from others, and from our environment, but true intelligence does not exist.

P.S. Sorry for restarting such an old topic, I just find it fascinating.
