Hi there, i'm currently going for 99 fishing, and will have about 35m+ after achieveing my goal, (And NO i'm not just in it for the money, i really enjoy fishing as a skill) After i have achieved my goal of 99 fishing i will be attempting 99 attack.

 

 

 

But anyways, i was just wondering, what is better A whip, dfs, decent armour (barrows/bandos) ect.. or a godsword decent armour ect..

It really depends. Decent armour is a must have. DFS is you slay Dragons alot, GS if you Do Slayer often. Whip + Def for the rest.

GS sucks for everything but boss hunting. DFS is handy if you need it for certain tasks, or if you think the whip+defender combo sucks graphically (my reason to wear a DFS).

Well the whip and defender combo is ok, but it doesn't provide that much defence tbh.. dfs has some quite good bonuses tbh.

Whip+Rune Def is the best for any kinda of training. Whether you grind out 99 attack or slay. Now if you PC your 99 attack, a gs would be handy as they have high hits, other wise don't use one. The DFS is really only good for Dragons. If you like you could buy Bandos and use Whip+Def. If not then the Barrow armours work just as good, if not better.

If you use good enough armor, you don't need it. And even then its just pointless to use.

When are you going to need those when slaying? Every decent slayer has access to a bunyip. If you don't have a bunyip, well, then the extra def might be useful, but meh.

 

 

 

I do use a DFS though. I like the graphics.

Yes the graphics are quite awesome, but maybe Whip/defender combo may be useful if i buy full bandos.

At your levels, Whip+def and Barrows (Torags/Dharoks) will be enough.

I'd prefer bandos though, because you don't have the bother of constantly fixing it.

BGS is slow. Other wise its ok. Only really good for bosses and pvp. DFS only good for rang tanking, and tanking in general. If you're normally fighting then whip+def works just fine.

Ok, thanks for all the replies, i think i may go for bandos chest-plate, tassets, dragon boots, helm of neitiznot/berserker helm, rfd dragon gloves/barrows (if i can be bothered to do dt) skillcape, fury/glory, whip, defender and ring of wealth.

DFS looks sick, but I would probably go for a GS.

Whip outdoes godsword for basically everything except bosses, and DFS is not worth the 18m it costs, unless you have tons of money to spare, which you obviously don't.

 

My advice?

 

Buy full bandos, looks badass, and is very good for slaying.

 

Whip+defender is just about the best combination of weapon+shield in the game.
