Dire_Wolf
Please try not to go off topic by talking about drop rates. The topic is not about that. It's about what "rare" is to Jagex, and if possible you can try to say a drop rate of that. So you are practically mixing up the questions of ''does god exist?'' and any relevant question that a pupil would answer ''It depends...'' to... This is not a discussion, it's just another speculation over the game engine, divine physics(or the complexity of a childrens mind, what ever suits you best) and particular context. There is no real answer to your question(also, to even try to answer it, the understanding of ''rare'' should be the same for both of us, which it most likely is not). There has been some posts about how the drop rate for GWD bosses has been to the poster, that's just a post saying only the drop rate. The drop rate itself is not the point. That's off the topic, and drop rate of the boss is what made it appear... I am just annoyed over that because this is not a discussion of item drop rates of monsters, but what rare is to Jagex. Also i am not saying that you can't mention drop rates, but don't get hunged up on it.
bedman
what is rare? No right answer on that question dude. I dont see any discussion value here tbh, but perhaps the discussion about the row and drop rates, but clearly that is not what you want to discuss. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h! Assume Nothing
To me it seems that alot of people are misunderstanding the difference between 'rare' and 'valuable'. For some places like abyssal demons (never been, but this is my theory), wearing a ring of wealth actually DECREASES whip drops because it's not 'very rare', there is rarer drops like the Dsq Half and Dmeds. Wealth doesn't make the rare drop frequency higher, as stated in the godletters long ago. It makes the drop a rarer drop than what it could be, so you could get a dmed instead of a whip, like in my example. Summary: Rare (i think) = drops which don't occour very often Valuable = dependant on ge prices and FRICKIN' merch clans

The notion that it ''improves''(makes it rarer) the drop even if you were to get a whip does not mean your whip droprate is decresed. On average, because the whip is more rare than an average rare item from the demons it's droprate is still improved by the ring, just not the full potential of the ring. As an upshot of this, you can assume that it decreses the droprate of the least rare drop(most likely uncut sapphire) and improves the droprate of the rarest items at the maximum percentage(something like left half from barbarians). The droprates of all other rare items are both reduced and improved, and the overall differance being determined by the position of the item on the rare item scale. First to 99 Farming on 27. Walkingdeat4
The hilt rate at Sara is 1/250, so Zamorak is the same. The hilt rates at Bandos and Armadyl would be slightly lower, maybe 1/300 or 1/350. The sara one is right though. For me it's more like; 0/2000 at Sara, 0/500 Zamorak, 0/3000 Bandos, 1/1000 Armadyl. I don't know where people get this 300 figure from, most people I know say they are unlucky at gwd :( maybe you should go with me next time, then I think that you just helped me, somehow..don't mind that!! :D yes this is rare |99 Attack|99 Strenght|99 Defence|99 Constitution|99 Range||99 Construction|99 Fletching|"...teh blog..."
