May 19, 200917 yr well, i just started using the forums, and i saw that i could post an avatar. cool i thought, i can use one of the fun orb avatars that i downloaded. unfortunatly, i found that the only way i could get an avv, is by getting one off the internet. now i dont know how to do this so i thought i would throw down this thread, sugesting that we could upload our own images, or at the very least copy and paste our immages plz post your thoughts, comments, (and if u got the spare time, how to put an avvatar on my account ;) ) lots of money is tainted, it taint yours, and it taint mine
May 19, 200917 yr If you want to use an image for your avatar that is on your desktop, you can still do so. All you have to do is upload the image to a free image hosting site (such as ImageShack. After you upload the image to that site (or any other free image hosting site, like [Censored for time being] or PhotoBucket, etc.), you will receive a URL for your image. Copy that URL, return to your Tip.it User Control Panel and paste that URL in the text box. That being said, I would still like to have an option to upload avatars from your computer directly. May 22, 200917 yr I didn't even know this myself. I guess it's been a while since I actually changed any of my features. :lol: But yes, Tripsis answered your question. I think it would be nice to have a direct upload, but I don't know the hassle in that. A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
May 22, 200917 yr A nice thing about having images uploaded to Tip.It was that it was impossible to have an oversized one. Don't really see it as needed though, if you're going to have a signature anyway it's not much more effort to upload an avatar too (unless of course you're using a generated signature or whatever.

May 23, 200917 yr It moves the load away from Tip.it's servers, if we allowed people to host their avatars here it would use more bandwidth. Whether or not that's the reason that the admins haven't turned on that feature I do not know, but it could be.
