Questions about Mith Bolts at Blast Furnace

Featured Replies

Mith bolts at the Furnac are the fastest profitable XP at 59 smithing, correct? (I will be getting 60 very shortly, so that I don't have to pay the fee.)

Do I add feathers to the bolts before selling?

Are there any habits at the furnace, or preferences of other players that I should be respectful of?

Best way - mine coal, buy most of the mithril ore?

Ok, thanks. I don't think I'll use SC hammers though, since I'd rather use them for Construction. I'll just buy it all and kill some green drags for the cash

The tip.it guide has a pretty good guide for how to use the Blast furnace. http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=blast_furnace.htm#team If you follow that, you can't go very wrong.

The blast furnace isn't the fastest smithing xp by far, steel plates are way faster. However, the blast furnace combines xp with a small profit, instead of wasting loads of cash on steel plates. I'd suggest feathering the bolts, you lose 1gp per bolt, but you'll get very quick flechting xp.

I don't think a lvl 99 fletcher needs quick fletching exp

Would the pets rule apply to other summoning familiars too? Like spirit terrorbirds for run and inv? Because I assume you dont to this because you accidently click on them and then you just follow them everywhere :?

With current prices, you'll lose 7 gp/bar (for unfeathered mith bolts) if you buy them on GE and unnote ores. You might make some money some days when the prices are lower but in the end, you won't make or lose much.

I would highly recommend that you play sc for the hammers even if you hate the game because it saves a lot of money and time (don't have calculations for that).

If you've done Royal Trouble, I'd set your MTK workers onto mining as you'd get very cheap coal that way. Otherwise, make sure you get some SC hammers and then you'll be on your way.

It's just better to put 10 on raw fish and 5 on coal, and just sell the raw fish and buy more coal.
