Napalm, why'd you learn English in the first place? Internet and vidya games? Or did they teach it in school? Because I don't imagine knowing English is necessary in Argentina(?).

 

Actually, english is taught at public schools here, obviously at a very basic level. I just happened to go to a kindergarten that taught both english and spanish, and then when I was in third grade my mom started sending me and my brother to a private english teaching institute until about grade 7. She thought it could come in handy. And though it's rare, my highschool had good english classes, all that plus videogames since I was very early, movies and later internet, taught me all the English I know.

 

And while you'll most likely never use English in Argentina, it does improve your chances of being hired in pretty much any job.

Huh. Interesting. Would you say that you're completely fluent? You seem like you are.

 

Sort of. If I think through what I'm going to say, then I'm mostly fluent. If it's just casual chatting then I do get 'stuck' sometimes. I'm much better with written English, though.

I guess I never really thought about it, but napalm does seem to "speak" way better english than most of us do.

One of my best friends is from Nepal and just learned English about 2 or 3 years ago, I think the whole language-learning process is really interesting. What language do you "think" in? English while doing English things, Spanish while doing Spanish things?

 

Sometimes I just use long or old-fashioned words on purpose.

 

And for the thinking, it depends. If I'm just thinking on my own, I'd say it's half of the time in English and half in Spanish. If I'm reading, then in whatever language the text is written. Same for listening to someone. Basically, in Spanish when I'm with other people, in English in the internet.

While you're trying to focus your arms are going to feel uneasy and you'll try as hard as you can not to move them but the uneasiness will only get worse and worse and worse until you shift possition. Repeat that process 10 times, and that's what happens everytime I try to lucid dream. Then I just get frustrated, say "[bleep] it" and attempt to regular sleep.
