Can't really understand it. I feel like it's something easy I'm missing..

Ah, balls. Vector physics.

 

It's a bit of a pain in the butt, but basically you just have to figure out what the acceleration is. Which you do by finding the change in velocity. So I guess deltaV would be <9, -10, 29>m/s. That over deltaT is the average acceleration, so that acceleration is <90, -100, 260>m/s^2. That times the mass is the average force, so your average force is <540, -600, 1560> N.

 

What the hell I just said it'd be a pain in the butt and solved it in under 3 lines. What.
