I usually keep them on, put some bah nah nah nah nah nah neo bah nah nah nah nah nah nah sporin on the raw inside skin, stick the flaps down on the raw skin and neosporin, and tape 'em up.

Do the flaps of skin reattach themselves? I always thought it was best to leave small cuts completely uncovered and as sterile as possible.
