Requesting/buying a background.

Right. I'm beginning to get a bit tired on my current sig. And as I tried to come up with something new to make, I thought of this little... personal joke between me and a rl friend. Anyway, since the sig would require some modelling in order to come out the way I wanted - and since I don't have any modelling program except Bryce, in which I don't think this can be done - I'm asking you guys, if you could help me with this.

Prefered program would be 3D Studio Max, which is more "costumised" than Bryce, I think.

Anyway, I drew an (horrific) sample in Photoshop, as to show you how I want the concept to be:

rkvatten.jpg

Right, so I want this glass located in the middle of the picture - I want it to look like it stands on something, so add I little depth - with water in it. And I'd like for the glass to be shown from "an upper perspective", like this. That's basically how I want everything to look (I don't want the water to be in any colour, just add a mirror-ish line like in the picture).

Okay, after that, I want a shrimp to be placed in the water! The shrimp should too, or at least prefered, be modelled. I don't know if my drawing looks like a shrimp exactly... but, but...

That's basically how I want it to be. I want it to have a very simplistic look, so no landscapes (o_-) in the background or anything - preferably just white!

And also, I want to add the text myself, but I will, of course, add a little "thankyou for the awesome background..." under the sig.

Also..., if any pixel-artist want to have a go at this, don't hesitate - as I don't know what you guys are capable with your pen tools. But I must warn you, don't start hating me if when I see the result, I say something like "sorry, but that's not what I had in mind - please no more pixel attempts". Since, as I said, I have no idea how it could look like.

Oh yeah...! About the payment, all I know is that I have currently a bit over 200k on my RS character. If you want more, and if the result would be mindblowing, then I can only but wander around and sell my precious body in the slums of Varrock...

That would be all. If you have any questions about my confusing "briefing", please ask! :)

I will look forward on seeign the results. :)

Thanks in advance.

You explained it well (i think), so thats good.

But the task sounds pretty much really hard, so i wouldnt do that :/

You said you have Bryce? I havent used it much (once tried it like for 10 mins), so i cant be sure what it is capable of, but im pretty sure you could do something with it (tho i dont say it will be easy).

edit: This is what i created in 5 minutes with Vue 4 (you can get the free demoversion which is more than capable (atleast for me) from here http://www.e-onsoftware.com/)

I think someone with better 3d-skills than me (maybe you with Bryce?) can do better, but in my opinion, it would be the easiest way to create it in 3d (if the picture below is anything that you were looking for).

Heh, thats nice. So Bryce can really do what i imagined it would :)

Tho i think that your bowl looks a little metallish, or when you look the top of it (from the hole where you put water into it), it looks like the light wouldnt go through it.

Must be realy brave to call that poor but so cute thing a shrimp :)

However i think the concept is fantastic. Hope you find some1 good enought to implement it

Good luck

Yeah, you know me... I'm your brave, local little soldier. *coff, coff*

Thankyou. :)

Tonberry, I am definitely not an experienced Bryce user. The only thing I do there, is to place some random shapes inside the canvas, alter them - and render it. Then I touch it up in Photoshop. But I've tried to model some simple things in it, but the result is naturally horrific.

As for your entry, it isn't really what I had in mind. The shrimp looks like one of them pacifiers (hope that's the right word...). I thank you for trying, though! :)

IDPUP, that's a great shot!! But I kinda' really wanted it to be the shape of a glass. And as Tonberry said, it looks sort of metallish. Would you care to give it another shot? :)

Tonberry and Azvi, you guys are right, ya know I kept looking at the bowl and something looked off and I could not put my finger on it..duh.

I will give it another shot and try for a glass...was fun to try something different :)

Awesome, IDPUP. But naturally, I have to maintain my utterly disturbing self, by requesting a few things to be changed - that is, if you're up for it...

Okay, first thing, instead of adding a brick-ground, could you just go with plain white? Because, IMHO, it would look better, and the glass wouldn't get "discoloured".

And in your first shot, the shrimp was pink-ish, now it's green... - I liked pink better. o_o

And it's kinda' blurry, but I don't think you/anybody can do anything about that. :)

Maybe the blurryness would decrease if you made the glass bigger... okay, I'll stop now!

Again, great job, I really appreciate this. :)

Here is the revision :)

Changed the bg to plain white.

Made the glass a little larger to not distort the shrimpmeister as much.

Shrimp dude should be pinkish again.

Let me know what ya think :)

Thanks

Amazing! But there's just 2 more things: it looks like the water is somehow outside of the glass... on the sides.

And si it possible to remove the shadow? Other then that, it's exaclty how I wanted it! :)

is the shrimp done in bryce? lol im a complete noob when it comes to bryce but i still may try for the fun of it although i dont know how to get a shrimp in there

If the shrimp did come from Bryce, it would look more 3D-ish. So no, I don't think he used Bryce to create it, my guess would be that he cut it out from a picture or something.

No offence, but that doesn't really look like a shrimp. o_o

And the glass was just done by using a cylinder. I'm sorry, but I'm looking for a bit more... advanced. I appreciate your go at it, though. :)

Here ya go :)

I changed the glass a bit, made it a little larger, removed the shadows, adjusted the water (the liquid was inside the glass but the reflection projected it to be within the glass material, hope it turned out better now :))
