I currently use Sumona for my Slayer tasks, I was wondering if it's really worth getting a cannon.

 

 

 

I don't want to spend all of my money on it, I want to know that it's not being totally wasted, I mean, I've heard using it Aberrant Spectres under the Pollnivneach Dungeon can profit.

 

 

 

I'd probably use it on things like Basilisks and Spectres? I don't know, give me some ideas. :P

 

I'd use it mainly just to speed up a few tasks, but not at a huge price.

I do the same with my Cannon.

 

The tasks I cannon are: Spectres, Dark Beasts, and on occasion Dagannoths.

 

 

 

For Spectres and Beasts, they speed up the task a lot and I end up profiting in the end.

 

For Dagannoths which are already quick to begin with, it just makes it much quicker.

For cannoning the Spectres if you are bringing a BoB with you, bring 2 or 3 replacement pouches. The spectres hit hard on familiars, and since it is multicombat, when the cannon attracts the monster towards you your BoB will attack it and in the end receive damage.

Cannon if you want. Its about a 15 min task, uses around 1k cannonballs. You also get about 10k slayer exp. And for 15 mins that is pretty good. You gain a nice amount of slayer exp in a short time, but you also waste about 200k in cannonballs.

 

 

 

Chaos Tunnel Dags are good. You will profit, but you also need to pray Range Protection so you don't get killed.

What i find best is that you use a combat familiar, i use a fire titan. Then towards end of task dismiss it, if its not dead yet, and just summon your BoB to store extra herbs in.

GETTING the cannon is nothing, USING it is where the money hemorrhages.

 

 

 

I used it on black demons last week, as I didn't want to skip the (nice slay xp) but wasn't in the mood doing them. Made quick work of them, used 2.5k balls on them in a 150+ task. Took me about 1/2 an hour. Sure, it cost me, but it was fast, good xp (both ranged and slayer) and I did not have to spend points on blocking/skipping.

 

 

 

Use the cannon for convenience, I would say. There are little slayer tasks that end up profiting while canonning.

At 71 slayer i wouldn't bother with a cannon, the levels are fast anyway. If you continue with slayer, by the time you get to level 90 and see how much exp and time it takes to get even half way to a level, there will be no doubt in your mind about a cannon. You will just use one.

 

 

 

If you are shooting for 99 slayer, once you are around 83, whatever the level is for spirit mages. Use a cannon.

 

 

 

I never lost a cent using a cannon, i made cash. However, i did not use a cannon until i was 92+ slayer.

 

Oh and i had spirit mages blocked from 95-99. If you dont block them you will make more cash. One set of dboots pays for a good portion of the next cannon task.
