Okay I'll start off by stating that when I say "defense" I am not referring to the Defense skill, but to all defensive skills: Defense, Hit points, Prayer, and Summoning.

 

 

 

Now the Summoning, and Defense skills don't not effect your max hit, but Hit points, and Prayer do.

 

 

 

Since we know that the Prayer skill unlocks access to the Divine, and Elysian [Elysian means bliss if you did not know(Bliss shield FTW?)] spirit shields both lower max hit in a very obvious way there will be no need to discuss them.

 

 

 

So the main focus of this thread is the Hit points skill.

 

 

 

Now you ask; "How does hit points lower max hit?"

 

 

 

Well let me explain.

 

 

 

Lets say you have 75 HP, and you get hit a by a 75, their hit was 100% damage.

 

 

 

Now lets say you have 100 HP (you boosted it with your cape to make math easier), and you get hit by a 75, their hit is now reduced to 75%, and did not hit 100%.

 

 

 

Do you understand? RAISING YOUR HIT POINTS IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS REDUCING THEIR MAX HIT.

 

 

 

I'll explain some more.

 

 

 

Lets say we now have a new combat formula, one in which the Defense skill lowers the hits of your enemy. let say you have 75 HP, and they hit a 75, but your defense lowered it to 52, so they hit 75%.

 

 

 

See it is 75% damage either way! whether you lower their hit or raise your HP, 75% IS 75% EITHER WAY!!!!!

 

 

 

Hopefully this will clear up some of your anger causing you to ask for an ability that is already in Runescape.

Max hit is a set number, regardless of how many hitpoints you have. If the calculated hit is above your current HP, it simply hits for the remaining hitpoints. Say you have 10 hitpoints left and your opponent attacks you. If the opponent's max is, say, 50, then every calculation from 10-50 will show a splat for 10 damage.

 

 

 

Hitpoints has no effect whatsoever on max hits, only on the percentage of damage the opponent can attack for (according to your reasoning)

If you have 100hp, and somebody hits a 75, it isn't reduced 75%, that would mean 25 damage was done..

 

 

 

You are going on the basis that people do as much damage as the target has health... You're an idiot.

Exactly this, unfortunately your thought process hasn't quite worked out and I can only see this thread falling into other people telling you this.
