July 14, 200916 yr I been thinking...what is the point of thieving and firemaking? besides of the skill requirements for quest and the level 99 capes... is there really a point to those skills?
July 14, 200916 yr firemaking at 92 you can get the inferno adze wchich helps with wc ( as good as the d axe), firemaking (burns 1/3 of the logs you cut with it) and minning ( as good as rune pic or so jagex says) and it looks cool imo thiev you can get a lot of money and it can be fun other then that not much after a certain point the skills are fairly mundane to train but they can still be intresting EDIT: wewt post 300 lol ~~~legoman187~~~ Clicky siggy for blogThanks Pendonub for fancy new sigThieving guide[WIP]Loyal player since May 2005 and member since November 2005 and Tifer for many years~~~legoman187~~~
July 14, 200916 yr You could ask that about any skill, really. In the end, it's all just a game and you're training the levels either for competition or for your enjoyment. Thieving is necessary as a pre-req in some quests as well as firemaking. Firemaking and thieving can be used in a few minigames. You can get some items specific to the skill (inferno adze, as mentioned), like the Rogue's outfit from the Rogues Den. Retired Tip.It Mod || Admin and Founder of Caesar 3 Mod Squad! All are welcome!
July 14, 200916 yr In my opinion, Firemaking was intended to be a money-burner [/pun] or as an ability to burn all those willows one would cut on the way to 99 Woodcutting. My Gamercard | Click for Blog | Mining Guide | Illumination
July 14, 200916 yr Thieving is also good for collecting seeds (especially herb seeds). [2010] Proud Member of Downfall[2004-2005] Former Leader of The Unbreakables, Former Member of Corruption, Former Member of 'The' Clan(...and Anarchy for a few weeks... shhh...)
July 14, 200916 yr In my opinion, Firemaking was intended to be a money-burner [/pun] or as an ability to burn all those willows one would cut on the way to 99 Woodcutting. Except when firemaking was introduced, you could only burn normal logs. It was introduced in a different time, when it was feasible to fish a load of fish, cut down a tree, burn the log, cook it and bank it. It was just an assist skill, with no reason to get it past level 30 or so. With RS2 Jagex thought they may as well do something with it so they just let you burn all logs. Some games do not mix...
July 14, 200916 yr They could've taken it out during the change? Why didn't they... ? :x My Gamercard | Click for Blog | Mining Guide | Illumination
July 14, 200916 yr Because it still has use, to light a fire. And cooking on better logs would give you less chance of burning food, although I don't know if this is still the case. Some games do not mix...
