Master_Smither
That falls under that criteria because they are spamming the window more time then necessary(which it's not necessary at all), causing people to not be able to communicate with others or click the trade. As a player mod please do the community a favor and enforce the rules that are given because until Jagex says otherwise(and I don't mean in your mod forum where a select few can see it) they fall under the rules. Until Jagex openly states I can not report them I will continue to do so and I urge others to continue to do so whether or not someone with a silver crown says otherwise. But it does not fall under that. There are two types of spam, game related and non-game related. Game related spam consists of things like trade offers, adverts to join a clan chat channel or PvP spam. [...]ignore this type of spam, and if players are complaining, [it is advisable] that the ignore list is used.Report them if you wish. Your report may be acted upon but it falls within the guidelines. Where would that be in the rules? I want a link and a way to get it from the rules page. If you can not provide that and tell me it's on your mod forum then it;s null as everyone can not access that and it's not public information. The rules state flooding the window and disrupting peoples' game play is against the rules without an specifications. In the end Manual written by Jagex>Person with a silver crown next to their name. So basically advertising clan chats that scam, lie, and manipulate their users is fine? Well dang then all of the scammers are missing out they can easily lure misinformed people, lie them, and accord to these rules you give it's ok! Even with the Jagex mod post on the forums it does no help because not everyone browses the forum. If they post it on the mainpage then there will be less people who join those chats, get misinformed, and scammed for their hard earned money. Laura
In the end Manual written by Jagex>Person with a silver crown next to their name.I'm bemused as to why that is being brought up in this argument. And in essence, your statement leads to Jagex=Jagex. ...is to fill the chat window with unnecessary text.'Unnecessary' is a subjective word. Something that is annoying is not always against the rules nor is it always considered unnecessary. Too further add, price manipulation is not against the rules and Jagex has stated this many times. I've already defended my stance on this multiple times and I have nothing further to add.
Master_Smither
In the end Manual written by Jagex>Person with a silver crown next to their name.I'm bemused as to why that is being brought up in this argument. And in essence, your statement leads to Jagex=Jagex. I brought it up because without a link to the place where that is written for public viewing it's basically just you saying it and we need hard evidence. However, what you stated does make sense and most likely is true but, how is an average Runescape player who looks up the rules supposed to know that? He can't so therefore because the specifics of spam are not stated he is allowed to report it. I will continue to report them for disruptive behavior everytime I see one advertising at the GE until Jagex puts what you said into the manual or somewhere were an average player would see it. ...is to fill the chat window with unnecessary text.'Unnecessary' is a subjective word. Something that is annoying is not always against the rules nor is it always considered unnecessary. Too further add, price manipulation is not against the rules and Jagex has stated this many times. I've already defended my stance on this multiple times and I have nothing further to add. 6. What is flooding the chat window? Spamming/flooding the chat window is to fill the chat window with unnecessary text. This is an offence and is disruptive and unfair on other players, as it makes it more difficult for them to communicate and trade with each other. Are they disruptive? Yes Do they make it harder to do a trade in the GE? Yes Do they make it harder to read what others are saying? Yes Is it unnecessary? That is debatable They meet 3 out of 4 points mentioned in that rule therefore they can be reported, whether Jagex decies to take action and address this problem now is thier choice.I never said price manipulation was against the rules in-game and I often say it is not to clear up confusion. So I realy don't get why you added that in there... I was talking about their lying, scamming, and manipulating other players which they do practice every wekk. Lets sum this up: Price manipulation is not against the rules in-game. Scamming players is against the rules in both the forums and in-game. Lying to other players for your own personal gain is against the rules in both the forums and in-game. Telling other people to use an autotyper to advertise your clan is against the rules in both the forums and in-game. Using an autotyper is against the rules in both the forums and in-game but can not be reported unless someone admits to it. Flooding the chat window to a point where it hinders other peoples' trading and communication ability is against the rules in both the forums and in-game according to the manual written by Jagex for everyone to read. Correct me if I'm wrong about any of these rules. Laura
You are correct which is the problem. There are so many contradictions and subjective terms that cloud the actual statements. Sbrideau
If it disrupts the chat, report it, mods will know what to do with it. And the best is to report it under offensive language. Mods are allowed to mute them if they do it for more than 10 lines and almost every line.

Master_Smither
Ya it's fine. I hope Jagex actually does something about it though, because in the past their policy was if they don't admit to autotyping then you shouldn't report them.
