Veteran Slayer's Slayer Master.

Featured Replies

I don't see why anyone would oppose this, if you don't want larger tasks, use the lower level trainer. More options is always a good thing.

Also the prices of super sets, prayer potions, cannonballs and so on will go up drastically, while whips, dragon boots, dark bows and so on will go down

so?

500 mithril dragons.

1500 Goraks.

I wouldn't want to get tasks like that, so I'd skip em.

But something like 5 mithril dragons or 50 Goraks (which could be today's task) is more managable. I might actually do them instead of skipping them.

You need to remember that the slayer skill was designed to be a "fun" way to train combat. It's the anti-camp. It encourages you to go out and kill a variety monsters you wouldn't normally kill, explore areas you generally wouldn't explore. The slayer mask and helm were made so that slayers didn't have to feel so guilty about not using the most efficient training methods. Let's face it: slayer monsters aren't the most efficient monsters to kill, even with the slayer helm.

This "high-level" slayer master would suck all the variety out of slayer. It would make slayer less fun, but more efficient as a skill to grind. I suppose that there are a few people who would use that slayer master. I don't see anything wrong with putting in a high-level, many-monsters-per-task slayer master in, as long as he's well balanced. Just don't expect me to use him.

Lol, if were following the pattern of ~1000 kill tasks instead of 130-199, it would be 20-40 dragons, and like 250-500 goraks, but it sounds like you solved your own problem anyway.

So? What? Prayer pots are already ridiculously high in price and good luck getting profit form slayer when prayer pots would double the price and cannonballs as well. Not worth it.

id say no slayer is one of my favorite skills due to the fact im not doing the same thing over and over again i plan on slaying all my melee's to 99 but i would love to see a new slayer master to get added for slightly larger tasks and and a larger pool of monsters that you can get assigned

Judging from what everyone is saying, and my own personal experience with slayer (no matter how small it may be), some tasks would be good for 1K+ assigned, others would be loathed. I reckon the way to go about this is to make a higher-levelled slayer master that assigns tasks for people around level 125+. Maybe he could assign a new slayer monster? Your options are wide open. I'd go for it.

Erm no.

The whole thing that is GOOD about slayer is you only have to kill a few hundred a time. This means you aren't camping doing the same thing again and again grinding for xp you are getting out there to a variety of things.

Equally I wouldn't call slayer one of the most respected 99s simply because its been ruined by all the people who got it who are insistent its brilliant and is soooo much better than any other 99. At least the people with 99 fletching, fm or cooking are polite and nice with it and don;t try and make out their sooo amazing

Because it's NOT sooo amazing, Paw, and Slayer actually is. Fletching can be gained in a matter of a week with slowed training...Slayer takes anywhere from 500-600 hours depending on if you cannon or use piety.

That's the equivalent of spending 2 months, 10 hours a day non-stop, training slayer. Or about 20 full 24-hour days total.

I don't think it's the best 99, but it's clearly one of the longest to achieve, and that you can't deny. It's factual.

None of you're arguments even remotely factor into why I said I did not think slayer was that amazing.

I simply think it is not amazing because so mean people have it and insist it is amazing and thus you should give them epic respect that it become some what of the douchebags 99, for bragging rights alone. Which detracts, to me, from its amazingness. Plus as many already pointed out you can pretty much buy slayer to an extent.

I don't like it. Slayer is not meant to be a grind skill.

Plus, the way slayer monsters are built, you can't camp at many of them for long anyway. I for one always find myself needing to bank ANYWAY after a task, whether that's because my bunyip died, I ran out of ppots/food, or just because I picked up too much loot.
