Few things about Construction

Well I've hardly EVER trained construction before, my construction level is 53 (That's less than 150k total con exp) so obviously I don't know much about the exp rates and training methods, and now I'm going for 99 very shortly . I'll be useing SC hammers and running my own planks (If running my planks saves me an extra 20m or so, I think it's worth it)

Few Questions:

1. I've heard making oak larders to 74, then oak doors beyond that is the best method, is this true?

2. If above method is true, how much exp per hour do you think I would normally get?

3. Should I... 1. run all my planks before I start, or... 2. Bank (Get logs) > House tele > Get butler to take logs to sawmill > Make doors > Bank again and repeat. (Or another method is it is better than those)

4. If running all my logs before I start is better, what is the fastest way to do so, and how many planks could I make in an hour?

5. Using my butler to bring me things I need (planks, take logs to sawmill, whatever) will the cost (to pay the Butler) build up to 1m+ or so, or will the cost be little.

6. I've heard SC hammers give 50,750 construction exp per hammer, is this right?

That's all I think for now, if I think of anything else I'll post the question.

Any answers are appreciated :)

I don't know most of them but here are the ones I do know:

1) yes.

3) I think it would be better to just buy all the planks because the money saved from running your planks would most likely take you longer then making the money you saved. That's just like using the ecto alter for prayer, it saves about 30m, maybe less or more not sure now because the prices changed so much from when I calculated it last, but is like 3x longer then using a gilded alter.

6) Yes.

Sorry I don't know the other ones well because I'm only 75 construction, but to get it I did use sc hammers.

1. Yep that's correct.

2. Not quite sure, but I was able to get from 58-70 construction in one day using this method with stealing creation hammers. (6-8 hours of playing)

3. Use your butler to unote the logs and take them to the sawmill.

4. It's better to use a butler instead.

5. The cost will add up, but the time saved from making the planks yourself can be used to make the money back. Using a Butler for everything is the best option.

6. Yep, they're really handy and I'd suggest you get a bunch to cut down the costs by a lot.

I agree with Gondor. Just use your butler for everything. He's very quick, and it only adds about 5-7M extra if you use him to unnote your logs + make planks from 70-99 Construction. That's the method I'm doing. It nearly halves the overall cost of maxing the skill out. Unless you have a cash pile over 100M and you're not as focused on obtaining stuff like demonic thrones/steel dragons after you get 99 cons, then I'd suggest just buying planks off of the GE. It halves the time spent actually training it. Oh, never ever train without the sacred clay hammers. Those are a must, and you can easily just use Fast_Sc123 for non-combat SC. (Just read their thread for rules on the RSOF if you're considering playing with them.)

Oh, the butler (normal) charges his 5k fee every ~9k experience (with hammers). That's unnoting and making planks while making oak dungeon doors.

I already have most of the hammers I need. (3.57k points at the moment I believe, need 5.1k)

5-7m extra for using Butler is more than I thought, looks like my estimated total cost just went up to about 37m.

And by the way.. I'm a leader in Fast SC :P

Yeah, do larders to 74, then doors til 99.

Make the planks first (I think the fastest way to tele to CW, get logs, use balloon to sawmill and make, or the plank making spell).

Yes, the SC Hammers give 50,750 XP each approximately.

About the Butler, I'm not sure how much it will cost you, but use the one that is before the Demon One (The one that looks like an actual butler)

It'd be faster and more advantageous for you to use a human butler and NOT a demon butler. If you are not already.. just thought I would throw that nugget of information into the mix.

And I believe its 9 trips of anything.. if he leaves the house it counts as a trip. I could of sworn when I was doing Con he charged every 7 trips though.. maybe I am wrong but I thought it was 7.

Apparently, my signature was to big.

I get charged about every 9k exp. I get 2,400 exp every two trips he makes (unnote then sawmill).

New Question:

If I use the Butler to take logs to the sawmill, do I still have to pay the 250gp per oak log, or do I only have to play the butler his 5k every 9 trips or whatever.

You have to pay 250 GP per log, plus the occasional 5k fee that he charges.

It is more efficient to just buy the planks already planked. And the human butler is the most efficient because you wont need more than 20 planks ran to the bank at a time.
