Fletching Cape.

Honestly, I think anyone who wears this cape is awesome.

My goal is to 99 every skill, even if it takes me 20 years. I'm going to hammer out this one because it's easy and cheap. Why not knock out skills like this first before you do the ones you enjoy?

All you haters can suck an egg. I don't care about your opinion, its not all about hard work. Sometimes its about working smart, not hard.

I call Cooking and Fletching the easy 99, not cause they are easy to get, they are [cabbage] hard to get, i call it easy cause its one of the EASIEST out of the skills

You don't care? I wonder why you posted this thread in the first place...

If someone were to go for all 99's, it would be for the bragging rights. There is no other reason. With this in mind, getting a skill like fletching, which is essentially USELESS, to 99 first would defeat the purpose (which is, of course, to brag about your AMAZING achievements). Wouldn't someone going for all 99's for the bragging rights, in theory, get an impressive first cape? Untrimmed Hp? Rc, farming, construction maybe?

Those going for a fletching cape are:

1. Those who truly enjoy the skill (very few).

2. People who want the "easy" way out.

3. People who trick themselves into believing every 99 in Runescape is equal in worth.

Agreed.

Just because a cape is easier than the rest of the capes, doesn't mean its EASY.

Nothing in runescape is HARD.

Care to beat corp solo with no armour, food, or pots and flowers as a weapon? that's hard.

No, that's impossible. There's a difference. :notalk:

That's very possible in a luck based game; just very inprobable.

No, it actually is literally impossible. The Beast will regain HP faster than you could possibly damage it. Remember that you'd need to kill the Dark Cores as well, all while dodging 100% of his splashy-claw-thing attacks. You wouldn't possibly have enough time in between all those to get in enough hits to cover his natural HP regeneration, let alone defeat him, and that's even assuming he hits nothing but zeros, which is also impossible.

I'm going to hammer out this one because it's easy and cheap. Why not knock out skills like this first before you do the ones you enjoy?

I have an answer to this.

First, the goal of the game is not necessarily to get 99 in everything. Most skills have no content associated with high levels. Farming, for example, stops completely once you can plant Torstol, and all level-ups afterwards have no relevance to gameplay. The reason 2376 total is worth getting is to see what goes on in those maxed-out forums.

Second, if there's a skill you really want to get to 99, why are you wasting your time on something else? If you really want 99 agility, but you go for 99 firemaking instead, that's 85 hours you could have spent training agility. By the time you're done with firemaking, thieving, fletching, cooking, and any other "easy" skillcapes, you could have already achieved 99 in whatever skill it was you actually wanted to get 99 in.

Third, if you do decide to quit, then if you do the ones you enjoy first, at least you'll have put time towards something you enjoyed doing, rather than something you were just grinding out to get it over with.

That said, I don't base my respect for anyone on what items they're wearing. I base my respect on what they say. The most a skillcape could make me feel towards another player is envy. 99 in any skill represents nothing except that the player has spent some significant amount of time training that skill.

I completely agree with this. What makes you so sure you're not going to quit before you manage to finish the skills that have to be done and finally move on to skills you do like? Honestly, just finish the skills you like first, and if you're still playing by the time you've done that you can always train skills you don't like.

these 2 posts sum it up for me. train the skills you like first. you're just like everyone else. "I'm getting 99 fletch because it's fast and cheap, even though I like heblore much more but it's too expensive." that right there is a load of bollocks. time and money spent fletching could have instead been used to make more money to get those herb levels.

no one ever saves their favorite for last. ask anyone who has maxed. granted they probably didn't get their favorite 99 first, but they sure as hell didn't get it last. (sorry to use the mining example, but it's relevant) take a look at many of the maxed out players and their last skill to 99. it's probably 75% of the time going to be mining (or agility or RC). does that mean that those skills are their favorites? of course not. they probably hated those skills. ask them which ones they got first, and it'll most likely be their favorite combat 99. Now that's the way to go. get your favorite 99s first, and then the ones you hate for last (and by that point you'll be so close to 2736 that it won't matter)
