Thisbenathan
hey guys and gals i've come up with an idea on RS forums. i'd love to have your input and possible support  (what it says) I don't know just a thought of mine. I don't have enough time to buy a RS membership for a month; but every now and then I can take a week off and play. If I was a member, I would enjoy it more often. So I thought of the idea, why not membership by the week? First question asked, how much would it cost? In my opinion 2 American dollars (I don't know the currency for other countries to give their prices) would be a good deal. That way if someone buys more than 3 weeks, they are already paying over a month's subscription, making Jagex money. And I think we all know how much they like their money ;). Not to mention people can pay for multiple accounts on separate weeks, making even more money! Any questions? Ask me and I'll try my best to answer :) 83-84-158-59385026 <--------code Downfall since day 1.
Sir_Kurity
Good idea. Works for jagex, and for us. O.O
Gandorf61
The only problem I can see with this is the cost for making the transactions would be too big to make buying by the week worth it for Jagex. However if the cost for the transactions is negligible then I'm all for it. Although I probably would never buy membership by the week I'm sure some people would. quelmotz
I support, though I'll probably never be a member. Transaction prices could be a problem though, as the poster above me mentioned. nerdboyxxx
sounds alright, but I buy by the month regardless :P
All_Is_Great
I'd rather they could make an option on how to spend your member credits. I wish somehow they could create an option that allows me to lock my account for a two weeks/ a month (too short will be bad) like when I go on vacation, so the credit doesn't go to waste. That wouldn't be good for business. I'd say you can lock for up to a month or something by using $0.50 or $1 of your membership credit. This is to prevent "over-locking" by locking about every few days or so that you are not playing. Click here for an awesome suggestion to revive smithing! Sir_Kurity
In the case of locking your membership credit i think its a good idea. You may make less profit from each individual member because they can conserve more member credit. But on the other hand it may convince some less active f2p players who would like to casually play to buy membership, as paying for a full month of member just wouldn't be efficient if you could only play a few days every week or something, but if you could lock it, some of them would gladly buy membership. Omali
The amount of income Jagex could receive from new members would be negated by the current members who would abuse it. There are only a few MMO's that have tried that, and they have a special title for those kinds of MMO's: "Defunct due to lack of funding"

depresins
I've always thought membership would be much more popular if instead of 31 calender days, you recieved 28 days and they were only used up if you logged in. Each log in could apply for 24 hours. For the older among us, membership is dirt cheap anyway, but I know what puts a lot of people off of P2P is their inability to access a pc for significant times during the week. That would solve more than a few problems.
