The only way it would bank is if you had enough bankspace in the first place. Now if you had another pair of boots or another cape in the bank it would get deposited. The answer is no. I just tried it. I filled up my bank and tried to deposit all worn items. It does not remove the items you're wearing, you just get a message that your worn items could not be deposited. That being said, I agree with the previous posters. Don't risk it.
