Budget range training

I have 49 range. i'm aiming to train it to much higher levels and i am curious on your input.

What is the most efficient (cost per exp) method to reach 60? 70? 80?

i was thinking to use a goblin crossbow and bone bolts. but i'm looking for a bit more input.

(using sc armor of course)

Well, if you kill something that gives drops, you actually earn money. My suggestion is train to 60 range via cheap stuff like bronze knives/ arrows on yaks/ experiments.

Then go to green drags with a rune cbow and mith/broad bolts.

I can tell you that I got up to 72 range without spending more than about 6-8k. It's pretty simple, really, although it may be more time-consuming than you might have the patience for. Mine coal and mithril, or, alternatively, coal and iron. Then, smith that coal and iron into steel bars, or that coal and mithril into mithril bars. Make the bars into arrow heads or unfinished bolts.

If you are making arrows, fletch arrow shafts. For both arrows and bolts, buy feathers (or kill/hunt for them), and attach them to your unfinished ammunition. Use magic shortbow and/or rune crossbow to fire your self-made ammunition. A very cheap method in my opinion.

As far as shooting the ammunition, maybe try moss giants. There is a good safe spot at Crandor Isle, and the giants have some pretty good drops. It's what I used, anyway.

bronze/iron knives at chaos druids.

Its a nice profit per trip so you won't be losing anything.

Once you've amassed a enough switch to avis or yaks.

    Warrior Ring x8

Awful? Maybe. Budget? Very.

Its awful training as in it sucks. You aren't saving anything by mining the ore, smelting the ore, smithing the bars, and fletching into arrows. To make only a little bit of ammo would take a huge amount of time. You could easily buy iron/bronze knives and train then make money in the time your method takes.

Bone bolts are 2 gp.There's no cheaper training than that.

How about arrows that cost you 0 gp?

You do have a point more or less.

Actually.. by making your own ammo, it's more costly. The opportunity cost is way too large. It's completely inefficient.

I'll use this as a simple example. Why not just kill greens for an hour and make 400-500k? Then buy your ammo.. Instead of wasting an hour to make... I don't know how many, but probably less than 100k worth of arrows.

SPECIALIZATION is the key people. Do whatever makes you the best money. I could understand making your own ammo before the grand exchange, as it was harder to find buyers/sellers, but not now.. it's just stupid.

This is what I did to 60 range. Use glory tele to Karmja, and head West. There is a Moss Giant island all the way west of Brimhaven. There are 5 moss giant spawns, and the island is rarely crowded. There are 2 cake spawns and many safespots. They drop big bones as well, and sometimes drop ranarr seeds and half keys!

OK! OK! Did you not read the post above yours? I said I get it now. Yes, I can see that however you do not spend money on ammo, it's wasting precious time that could be used to get (more) money. I suppose the only "advantage" with my method is you get xp in mining, smithing, fletching, and woodcutting. But since the question was not, "What is the way of training range where I can incorporate the largest number of skills at a time?", that has little significance within this thread.
