The scan lines seem to be creating some kind of optical illusion. Not only does it look like its flickering but it also is morphing the image and making it appear distorted. Coupled with the pale colours, dark grey and dull red, it really doesnt look that pleasing to the eye.

I see what your talking about merc, it gave me a head ache looking at it to much. Not a bad logo, but to simple for my taste :)
